Many manufacturers recommend removing the propeller to tank test small motors the small stream above is what is called a tell tale so you know the pump is working .

SOURCE: Hunidifier doesn't add enough moisture to air

here is the link to the manual for the w7 - they suggest a replacement wick filter would solve the problem due to bacteria or mineral build up - i would expect this to solve your problem as the only way these wicks can not soak up the water to the top is if they are clogged or the tank is empty. try the cleaning routine on page 9 first - might be enough but the wicks probably will need replacing soon anyway. http://www.bionaire.com/manuals/W7_English.pdf Hope this helps :)

SOURCE: new 1/2 hp jet pump with tank not working

Your hose size is to small. Use a 2in black plastic line out to the lake. Inspect your foot valve, and
take your pump apart to see if you may have a pebble stuck in it, and remove the inner workings
and clean. Contaminates build up inside and need to be flushed out. Remember to replace the
gasket. Tighten all your hose clamps. Once your ready to start, spray shaving cream on your
fittings to see if your sucking air. I've been through it all and my pump works fine.

SOURCE: Honda 4 stroke petrol leaf blower.Petrol starvation

Further to the previous response of checking for bent fuel lines. It sounds like the breather is faulty, this is integrated in the fuel cap, as you screw it down the rubber/cork gasket makes a tight seal preventing spillage but the breather allows for neutral pressure inside the tank, with fuel being sucked out it creates a negative pressure in the tank or a vacuum causing the engine to be starved of fuel as it can't draw more fuel. Check the cap for dirt or grime and possibly give it a good rinse in benzine before trying again, otherwise try and get a replacement cap. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: MY F250 POWER STROKE QUITE RUNNING IT WONT START

The 7.3 power stroke is not tha bad sheesh its actually pretty simple ok let me ask some questions here ok lets start simple when cranking does the needle on the tach move to approx. 5-600 ? if not more than likely its a cam sensor in which case there is actually a recall from ford they will fix it free.... yes I said free :) if not my second guess would be the Idm they were notorious for getting moisture in them btw IDM stands for injector driver module and you can find a good reman unit online for 200 "use google" if you have a friend with a high end scanner hook up and watch engine rpm there and also do a "buzz test" no buzz = idm fail another easy thing to do is open the drain on the fuel filter bowl and turn the key on and crank for 1 sec is there fuel shooting out ? if there isnt check fuel pump well that about covers it good luck please let us know whats up :)

Nissain Terrano Runs pourly when under quarter of a tank of diesel but fine when over quarter

the fuel tank may need cleaning, sediment appears to be blocking the pick up tube when tank is at quarter, or the pick up tube may be broken at that height and the system cavitates at 1/4 tank

Ihave a 1980 25 hp evinrude an i dont know if it pumping water i just put a new impeller in it but where does the water come out

run it in a dustbin of water and have the cavitation plate thats above the prop under water by at least 12inch , start engine and there is a hole at rear just below the engine cowl that chuffs water and exhaust out plus you should have a tail of water thats on the bottom pan of the engine ! with the top cover off there is a large plate on one side and thats the exhaust cooling plate and you should be able to touch it it the engine is cooling !

Can I test a portable, gas powered water pump by recirulating the water back into the same tank? will I need to maintain a certain height to prevent any cavitation?

If you have a 55 gallon drum or a larger tank, you should be able to draw and pump water from and back into the same tank, without any issues provided you don't have both the suction line and discharge line in the water at the same time.

As to the height issue, it shouldn't matter as most pumps have more than a 10' minimum head height, so you should be able to place the pump at ground level and run the suction hose into the bottom of the tank and place the discharge so it's at the top of the tank, but not submersed in the tank. That will prevent cavitation.

We had some very large capacity hydraulic pumps (900+ GPM 4" ports) and used (2) 100 gallon livestock tanks to test them with. Didn't take long to drain one to the other! Yes, they were 900 gallons per MINUTE!

Hope you find this Very Helpful and best regards!

HI I got a 1993 mainbuilt eagle boat. with a 130 hp honda .also have a 24 inch setback plate. Ihave got the top plate above the prop 2 inches above thebottom and I'm haveing a hard time to get out of the...

I think the prop is too far out of the water. The front of the hull is going to push the water away from the transom until you get lift. If you consider the prop is just below the planing fin you need push, not cavitation. With the setback you are actually lengthening the boat and you have a void of 24 inches of water before the hull starts to throw the water out of the way.

I have a husky compressor, model number y6010-wk. it builds pressure slow, and shuts down right away.

Problem: My compressor is not producing the air that it once did. It takes twice as long to pump up.
Solution:
1)Turn off your compressor or disconnect the power.
2)Remove the connector tube that sends air to the tank.
3)Remove the head bolts on top of the pump.
4)Remove the head off of your pump.
5)Remove the valve plate off of your pump. It may be a one piece or a 2 piece design.
6)Inspect the valve plate for broken reed valves or broken gaskets above or below the valve plate.
