SOURCE: detergent dispenser

The opening of this dispenser is controlled by a wax motor for release. If you are unable to keep the latch shut you are probably looking at the spring and latch assy. This is not a hard job, but you have to open the inner door to get at the latch. Part numbers for the spring disp. flap is 912547. The latch (inside door) is 99001291. If you take your time and observe carefully the job will be easy. Catriver, post back.

SOURCE: Ryobi 3000 psi pressure washer detergent injector

Most detergent injectors work by the venturi system. That is that the detergent is drawn into the stream by the forward flow of the water thru a very narrow port after the water passes thru the pump. This system works best when the pressure at the tip of the wand is low. Trying using a very large tip to draw in and apply the detergent, then remove injector and rinse with high pressure. Not good for the pump but to apply soap reliably under high pressure the soap needs to be injected through the intake of the pump. enjoy

SOURCE: whirlpool washer overflows at detergent dispenser

Hello, I worked on a problem like this a few days ago. Your problem is going to be a blockage in the inlet to the drum. To fix this problem find the inlet pipe normally located above the door behid a flap of rubber..push your fingers up there to see if you can feel a blockage..If not your going to have to remove the lid of the machine to access the pipe that leads from the detergent drawer to the tub. Look at the rear top of the machine..You will see three screws....remove them and push back and lift the top panel (lid) now you should be able to access the pipe. Pull the pipe off and clean it out, i suspect you will find a sock blocking the pipe :) If you have any other questions or concerns please feel free to comment again. Good Luck! Mike

DETERGENT DISPENSER WONT WORK???

A common mistake people make when using the detergent dispenser is to use one of the high pressure tips on the wand while trying to dispense detergent. You have to use the black, soap tip so there isn't too much back pressure in the line for the dispenser to work. If you are using the black tip, check the dispenser line and fitting where it connects to the line for anything that may be blocking the line.

I am going to clean my patio awning and i do not know how to use the detergent thingy. Can you help, please.

Typically the clear detergent hose is inserted into a container or your liquid is poured into a receptacle on your power washers. In most cases, the detergent is only dispensed under low pressure and not the high pressure you would normally use.

Leaves detergent in despencer tray

Most of the time this is a dispenser housing issue. Remove the dispenser tray from washer and make sure it is cleaned very well. In the more serious clogs, you may need to clean the hose from the dispenser to the drum.
  1. Make sure the detergent dispenser drawer is opening. This issue occurs due to jammed soap dispenser. Dispenser Distribution System is located in the top left corner of the washer. The system consists of a motor that turns a cam gear. The Detergent Dispenser Assembly is located under the washer top. Begin by removing the washer top, console and front panel.
  2. Separate the water inlet and window washer tube from the boot. Pull the water inlet tube from the outlet connector of the detergent dispenser. NOTE: When reinstalling the water inlet tube, wet the water inlet gasket on the detergent dispenser with water only. Do not use any other lubricant. Align the tab on the water inlet tube with the indentation on the dispenser connector and slide the tube onto the detergent dispenser assembly.
  3. Remove the screw securing the front of the detergent dispenser assembly to the top front frame member.
  4. Disconnect the vent tube from the detergent dispenser assembly. Remove the screw securing the detergent dispenser assembly to the top left frame member. Slide the assembly back slightly and lift the assembly out.
  5. To remove the detergent dispenser motor assembly, disconnect the cam follower spring and lift the cam follower from the diverter cam and rotate the diverter cam clockwise to access the motor mounting screws. Check for all the connections to the dispenser motor or anything obstructing the dispenser drawer functioning.
  6. Pull the diverter out and clean it, including the shaft, spring, etc.

Detergent dispensing

Hi there,

As a rule on pressure washers, the detergent is dispensed a lower pressures. Water (rinse) is high pressure.

This is done with the nozzle. If they're color coded, it's usually the black one. If not, use the one with the largest opening.

Can't comment on the #1. Just the nozzles.

Best regards,
Mike

How to attach detergent dispenser

Hello,

These units have a quick connect system that enables you to change attachments quickly and easily... The fitting is a bayonet similar to a light globe you have to pill back slightly on it and twist it clockwise whilst pointing the lance away from you then it should just pull out and do the exact oppisite to fit the detergent dispenser.

They some times get forign matter built up in them when they havent been swapped over in a while so if it still does not seperate give it a couple of taps on the ground...

Hope this helps

Kind Regards
Brad

Craftsman pressure washer #580761810 will not dispense detergent.

Karchers are known as one shot wonders, The pump used on them is an aluminum alloy that powders when you use any type of chlorine/bleach detergent in them at all. My advice is to use it as just a pressure washer and spray the detergent with a hand pump garden sprayer. The pump and parts are so expensive that its not worth the time or money to try to repair. I also feel that if you are not a monthly user of this machine it is much more cost effecient to rent one for the day when you need one.A reputible rental price is about 30 dollars for 4 hours or 50 for 24 hours.Good luck

Why does the detergent compartment hold water after the cycle is complete?

It might be due to not having the washer properly leveled front to back and side to side, thus allowing some water to remain in the detergent dispenser. Check the washer for level with a good 3 foot or longer level and check across the front and back and then on each side and finally from each front corner to the opposite back corner. Level the washer by raising or lowering each leveling foot on each corner on the bottom of washer (or the pedestal units, if so installed) until the washer is properly leveled in all directions.

Once you've got the washer properly leveled, you shouldn't have much of a problem with residual water in the dispenser.

Detergent dispenser stuck

Had the same problem here today, the softener dispenser blue plastic piece was loose jamming the whole dispenser tray, to resolve remove top cover, two screws on top rear, slide the cover towards the back, you will then see the detergent dispenser, press the right clips and pull it off slightly at the back; do not put too much pressure and try to remove the cover completely, just pry the plastic cover a bit then pull the detergent tray it should come right out.

Dispenser problems

Open dispenser drawer and push down on center plastic tab at back of dispenser to allow you to take dispenser out of machine. Take the plastic pieces off and clean them. (they need to be clean in order to siphon the bleach, softener, etc out. If there is water left in them, the water fill valve is OK. Cleaning should fix your problem. If you are using concentrated additives, try diluting them a bit with warm water when you add them to the dispenser. Remember, only one tablespoon (max) detergent, one teaspoon (max) fabric softener per load.
