The battery is most likely not specific only to that bike. Look for a general battery supplier in your area and show them the battery, ask if they can source a replacement. Alternatively measure the size and note the type of connection, then contact an online provider of batteries. I believe the correct specs for the battery are below:
Voltage: 350W 36V

  • Charge Voltage: 42V
  • Input Voltage: AC 220V
  • Max Gradient: 15 Degree
  • Battery Capacity: 4.4ah
  • 2 Plugs: US Plug, UK Plug

Fixya does not sell batteries and is unable to identify sources.

You are not Fixya, and the person is asking for advice, not asking to order one.

It doesn't fold like it used's too hard to do to even bother...

Not sure what your question is, sounds more like a complaint.

Perhaps the hinges just need some maintenance and lubrication?

You could also take the bike into your local bike shop and they can provide a tune-up on the bike and make sure everything is working smoothly.

    What is a Folding Bicycle?

A folding bicycle is a bicycle that folds for convenient storage and portability. The perfect folding bike would be one that rides as well as a quality full-size bike, folds in seconds, weighs less than 10 kg (22 lb), and folds small enough to fit under a bus or train seat.

Everything comes on horn works blinkers lights but bike wont start brand new battery so how do i start it or what to check for

Hi and welcome to the site,

Initially,is there a clicking sound? If yes, then check the starter relay. Temporarily jump the 2 big terminals. To locate the starter relay, follow the big cable from the battery's + terminal.

If there is no clicking sound, try starting with the clutch lever pulled and/or the sidestand folded up.

Good luck and thank you for asking.

Engine won't turn over. Has been sitting for

if the starter wont turn the engine over try putting the bike on its center stand plonking it in top gear and turning the rear wheel to see if the engine is sezed up,, it may just be very tight,,,or the starter may have set solid from lack of use, also the battery is by now dead,,,18 months stood doing nothing and not chareds very often wont do it any good at all, try using a car battery to jump start the bike

Dahon Vitesse: i have tried to tighten my folding mechanism in

Here is one manual: Here is a much more detailed manual: It looks to me as if the handle bar stem has to be up high enough so that the end of the stem will clear the fold when you fold it down. Otherwise the stem will be down inside the bike and it won't be able to fold. If that makes any sense. The better manual has good pictures and diagrams and explains the locking mechanisms a lot better. Please rate me if this helps.

Try or as it isn't that simple as you need 2 extra wires running to your door and extra relays to control the folding action.

Checked the battery with a multimeter, power to the fuses. checked the fuses, power on both sides of the main fuse. could this be the power relay? if it is where would it be located on the bike

    Hi and welcome to FixYa,

What seems to be the issue with the bike? If the starter motor fails to spin, try starting with the clutch lever pulled in and/or the sidestand folded up. If it starts, then the safety interlocks has to be checked.

If the starter motor starts, then check for the absence/presence of sparks.

Good luck and thank you for using FixYa.
