No, the pump should not be noisy. It sounds like you have picked up a foreign object in the pump housing. you may have to pull the face off to determine. OR the pump/motor is indeed defective and should be returned.

SOURCE: when I sharpen my chain with the timber tuff

I will wager if you place a protractor on the bar you will find the right and left links are at slightly different angles (one side gets more bite). It only takes a little difference. The usual suspect is the guide on your sharpener. Some grinders require an offset because the wheel is offset more to one side than the other.
I hope you found this helpful.

How do I miter with my radial arm saw (RA-2500). I can't tell from the manual.

the slide can be angled by the degree plate where the timber sits
the blade can be angled by the degree plate on the arm that mounts the saw
so you can get a 45 degree to the timber length and a 45 degree angle cut to that angle to give you a corner mitre cut

How to cut wood trim corner angles ?

It's generally easiest not to figure them at all - prop them in their intended position (although usually upside-down) to make the cut. Doing that eliminates any need for a compound miter saw. That assumes you're talking about crown molding. If you just want the angles for flat moldings, then remember that a square corner equals 90 degrees. Split that corner in half to make a miter joint, and you'll want 45 degrees. If you're making a half-round corner with three pieces, split the 90 degrees by three (the number of pieces) and you get 30 degrees each.

It does get a little more complicated if you're meeting one thickness molding with a completely different thickness molding - then sometimes the easiest thing to do is not miter at all, but make a "coped joint".

My poulan 18 inch chain saws blade turns but only cuts in about an inch and won't go any farther. It's two days old and worked fine cutting the first 2 trees down.

It sounds like the chain does want sharpening, it depends on what you are cutting ( type of timber, dirty timber, burnt timber etc ) as to how long before it needs sharpening, if the chain comes into contact with the ground below the tree it will lose its edge instantly.

My sliding laser miter saw is about 1 degree off on 90 degrees cuts, how do youadjust it?

Adjust the angle by turning the bed of the saw bit by bit until you have a 90 degree cut on a piece of timber measured with a carpenters square. Some saws have an adjustable pointer and you can now adjust it to point to 90 degrees. If the bevel cut is off, the vertical downwards cut, there may be grub screw at the back of the saw which will allow you to make adjustments.

I bought the 10" compound

I have been in the same situation in the past, with a mastercraft miter saw to a point of using playing cards to get that nice tight miter joint. placing the cards between the fence and the piece i was trying to miter.Rioby makes mastercraft all thought they are a good saw they have their limits to the precisions of their cuts. good for fences, decks, stuctural framing ect, were a degree two is not a big thing, but when making furniture or interior trim work or picture frames or hobby craft you need to buy a good pro saw like a dewalt or bosh sliding compoud miter saw they may cost more **** their worth the money they are very precise and will last a life time if taken care of .It will be worth the money when you get that perfect cut every time you use it,it will put the JOY and fun back in your projects and not to mention qualaty in your master pieces.

Realy depends on what you are cutting, 25/30 degrees is the norm for most soft to medium timber.

I have to install the crown molding around a wall that has an octagonal shape so some of the corner are larger than 90 degrees

Michael, I understand the angles, but you haven't asked a question. But I'll guess and continue... Cutting the angles you need will not be any problem, since they will be about halfway between a 45 degree cut and a straight (that's zero or 90 degrees depending on how you look at it). But the other consideration is that inside corner cuts on trim are done much better if you cope them (this still involves using a miter saw.) Guessing a bit further, you might not know how to do that. Just Google - how to cope trim. There are lots of article and videos on this. Good luck, Al K

How do I release the arm of a radial arm saw to cut miters?

Near the blade there should be a clamp that allows the saw head to be tilted to cut an angle miter through the board. The other miter adjustment is a clamp at the top of the post to let the radial arm swing at an angle, this would be used in conjunction with the other adjustment to cut a compound miter. I hope you are not totally confused now.

What do i do to cut inside/outside corners for crown molding

It is very hard to make proper cuts with one of these.

You may want to buy a power miter saw.

You would be better off marking your 45 degree angle and cutting it freehand.

If you angle your saw a little the face will look like it matches up better.

If you need more help post a comment.
