Manual says there is a fuse, but only covering the 12 volt DC output. There is a number where you can call them on page1.

SOURCE: engine shutdown while driving, check engine light

Try turning the advance-trac off. If you have a systems menu (Should be right side of Speedo) you have options for Park assist, bells ,chimes and so on. One selection is the Traction. The traction assist works by throttling down the engine when it detects a difference in rotation from 1 wheel to the next.

You need a scan for the codes but your hunk of metal is not able to go to Autozone or Oreillys until you start it.

You may also want to try to enter the keyless entry code in the door keypad in case the antitheft is upset. Your alarm may block the ignition.

Defeating the traction control and alarm system may get you going.

I have a 445777/0129-E1 engine that won't crank when I turn the ignition key. What should I check next?

The click will be the fuel switch on the carb that opens when the ignition is switched on. When you jumped the battery to the starter did you have the ignition on? If not it won't be getting fuel. If you find the wire that goes from the ignition switch to the starter solenoid (usually mounted on or near the starter motor) and connect the switch end of this to the battery does this crank the engine over? If so then the ignition switch will probably be faulty or have dirty contacts. If not then I'd suspect the starter solenoid.

How to replace starter solenoid , Suzuki 2010 sx4

a/t or m/t transaxle >???? ill guess auto.
fuses tested, good , battery ok, jumper cable jumps fail.?
1,2,3,,,,,
battery lugs clean ?????

immobiliser light off. key on.?
next test is hot wiring the starter solenoid
keys in pocket (it wont start) but will crank fast, in park.
if yes, you have a good starter. all in 5min work.
we use $5 push button cable to do that, most guys a screw driver jump.
so if that test passes the KEY line is bad. a whole other matter
http://www.fixkick.com/starter-hotwire.jpg

big lug to tiny. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr , this work?

if the KEY line is bad.?
then try to crank in neutral as the opr. guide explains
if that works the PRNDL switch is bad.
easy test with voltmeter, ask.....

now ill answser the how to question./
remove starter, replace starter.
or same on the bench remove solenoid , buy one and put it back.
finding solenoid can be hard.... (time to get it , and down time)

My 2014 Craftsman 247.20374 T1600 wont start it just clicks. Briggs 19hp, single cylinder. 46" deck.

The source of the clicking sound is likely the starter solenoid. Typical solutions are:
- Charge the battery (it has too low of voltage).
- Remove corrosion build-up on battery terminals, solenoid wire terminals and ground wires.
- Replace solenoid (it won't engage and only clicks).

You are saying that the starter motor is not working, that the engine is not cranking over, even with a boost?

If so, then either there is a problem in the starting circuit between the ignition switch and the starter, or the starter is bad. There is a way to check the starter on the vehicle: the starter will have 2 electrical connections. One is the positive battery cable, and the other is a small wire connection to the starter solenoid, mounted on the starter. The key should be off, the brake set, and the transmission in park or neutral. Use a small jumper wire or a small screwdriver, and jump the battery cable connection to the solenoid connector. Take off the solenoid electrical connector if you need room to do this. With key off, the engine won't fire and run, but if the starter is good, then jumping those two connections will make the starter engage and spin the engine over. (Of course, if key is in ON, the engine should start and run.) But you are just checking starter operation, so keep the key off. If starter is good it will crank the engine over. If jumping the two connections causes nothing, then it is pretty certain the starter motor or the solenoid is bad, and you need to replace it. (Take off the negative battery cable from the battery first to remove the starter from the vehicle.)

If jumping the starter caused it to operate, the starter and solenoid are good, and there is, again, a problem in the start circuit from the ignition switch to the starter solenoid. It could be simple like an electrical connection (like the one right there on the solenoid), or a component in the circuit between the ignition switch and the starter solenoid, like the neutral safety switch for example. You will need a wiring diagram and a multi-meter to diagnose further. Good luck, and hope you find the problem. Are you sure your battery is still charged up good?

Hi government32, seeing how you just installed a new battery I'll assume you cleaned all the connections. Not cranking at all sounds like 3 possibilities, Key switch, starter solenoid, or starter. Lets check starter first. Using a jumper cable, jump from positive battery post to starter motor (you'll see the connection on the motor where cable is connected, thats where you hook jumper), if it cranks the starter motor is ok. If it doesn't thats the problem. If it does crank check the starter solenoid, using a jumper cable jump across from side to side (the 2 big terminals). If it cranks now the solenoid is bad or the electrical connections are dirty. There are also 1 or 2 small connections on solenoid from the key switch, make sure they are clean. If these 2 components check out the key switch is bad or the connections on it are dirty. (its usually not the switch).Hope this helps you.

Bad solenoid i would guess. Not making a connection there. Any basic wiring and ignition switch problems should be alleviated by jumping the starter with a screwdriver. I would check the solenoid and starter brushes
