Question about Office Equipment & Supplies

My Xerox 6280 is getting an ADC Sensor Error 092-651 when I have printed several jobs of about 12 pages each. Is this a known problem?

Hi ....

There could be 2 solutions for this problem ...

1) Switch off the device ... wait for 10 seconds and then switch it back on ... most of the time it resolve the problem ..

2) If this does not resolve the problem, you need to remove and re-install the transfer unit which will resolve the problem for sure ...

Follow the below steps to remove and re-install the transfer unit.

CAUTION: Be careful not to touch the black Transfer Belt when replacing the unit. Handle the Transfer Unit by the release latches and the tabs on the left and right side of the unit.

  1. Power OFF the printer using the power switch located on the right side of the printer, toward the back. Press the power switch to the (O) position.

  2. Disconnect the power cord.

  4. Grasp and squeeze the green release latches located on the left and right side of the Transfer Unit. Rotate the transfer unit up until the notch on the shaMy Xerox 6280 is getting an ADC Sensor Error - 6180mfp-trans-unit-latches.jpgg bracket cutout.

<li class=Pull up on the right side of the unit to free it from the bracket, and then slide the unit to the right to remove it from the machine.

  5. Slide the unit to the left while rotating the unit to align the shaft-notch with the right My Xerox 6280 is getting an ADC Sensor Error - 6180mfp-trans-unit-install3.jpgen press down until the shaft fully seats into the bracket.


  6. Gently rotate the unit down until the release latches snap into place. Do not push on or touch the black belt.


  7. Close the Front Cover.
  8. Connect the power cord, and then power ON the printer. A 'Ready to Print' message will be displayed on the Display Screen.

Xerox workcentre 6015 092-651 error

That error indicates a bad ADC sensor. Try cleaning the adc sensor which is on the rear of the transfer belt. If that doesn't work, replace transfer belt as sensor is not sold separately.

I can tell you that a Engine Service Error Code #E526, stands for a "SOILED ADC SENSOR". ADC stands for "Automatic Density Control" [sensor]. Hopefully, you will have your printers "User's Manual/Owner's Manual" and it will show you exactly where that ADC Sensor is located, because I do not know. I think its a removable board, that probably slides in and out, somewhere near the upper right section on the inside of the front of the printer. If you use the round knob [on the inside of the printer, near the center] as the center of a clock, then I would guess that the sensor board assembly would be around the one-o-clock to the two-o-clock position, but really don't know for sure...Basically if there are any parts of wrong specifications used, improper mounting, damage, distortion, dirt, or adherence of any foreign material, that can cause that particular error code. Hopefully the ADC Sensor is just dirty and needs cleaned. The major parts that need to be checked, are the "ADC Sensor Assembly", the "Main Harness Assembly" and the "MCU Printed Circuit Board". E532 error means there's a drain on one of the several motors within the printer. Reseat all the consumables within printer (especially the waste toner)and the paper tray the error clears. If the error doesn't clear then you have a real hardware fault and the job of changing each motor until you get the right one. This particular printer has a problem with waste toner. The toner seems to clog up and be the main cause of this error - you may find this occurs after the printer has been sat idle for sometime i.e. after a weekend. Once this particular printer starts giving this message its best to run through this routine each morning... open the front cover, unlock the two lockovers, pull out the consuambles about half way and then slam them back in - hard enough to loosen the toner but not hard enough to break the printer. Switch it on and it should remain error free all day.

Solution --> ERROR 0082" name="Note" /> Phaser 790 / DocuColor 2006 Printer's: Cancel print job and cycle the printer's power

  • On the printer's Control Panel, press the Cancel Key (12 KB).
    Note: The READY message may only appear briefly. You may need to keep repeatedly pushing the CANCEL key.
  • If the error message persists, turn the printer off for at least 30 seconds and remove the computer interface to the printer (17 KB) before turning the printer back on.
  • Use the menu keys to perform a front panel reset (under RESETS menu).
  • If the printer redisplays the error message upon reboot, a file is likely STUCK at the front of the print queue. Use the front panel RESETS menu to CLEAR LOGS AND QUEUES, which will delete all print jobs in the printer's disk spool.
    Note: The READY message may only appear briefly. You may need to keep repeatedly pushing the MENU key to gain access to the front panel menu.
  • If the front panel menus can not be accessed turn the printer off for 30 seconds and then turn the printer back on.
  • If it is known which print job was last sent to the printer, try to reprint the last job spooled, which may be the cause of the error. Step 4 on clearing logs and queues may need to be repeated to eliminate the crashing job.
Note: Most XX82 or XX1E front panel error messages are NOT hardware related, but caused by a specific print job or application.
