Question about Car Audio & Video
Are u sure he is not just removing the CD and giving u back the same deck? yes these players get hot, and no there is no consumer fix for this problem, ask for a new unit the ones they provide at best are exchange units that were repaired, if the dealer refuses this request call the factory help number in your owners manual and ask for a field service engineer from GM to get involved in this problem, that is how you get the job done right in a situation like this, I was responsible for repairs like this in my dealer and the only correct way after this many decks is the factory getting involved.

Save hours of searching online or wasting money on unnecessary repairs by talking to a 6YA Expert who can help you resolve this issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
