SOURCE: Speaker noise
The contacts on the volume control (potentiometer) get oxidized over time on any analog rotary volume control. With the power off, crank the volume control back and forth real fast for a minute or two, this will do the most cleaning of the contacts that you can do without access to the insides. Ultimately you'll probably need to sprary some tuner wash/tuner cleaner or other electronic parts cleaner in the know (with the electricity disconnected) and then work the knob back and forth. Tuner wash bottles are available at electronic specialty stores or radio shack and usually have a long extension tube (like what comes with WD40). You might be surprised where you can reach with the extension tube.

SOURCE: Volume Control
The volume control shaft lube, over time and heat exposure, will flow down and corrupt the contact between the volume twister and the spring loaded sensor. Pull the cover off the tuner, locate the volume control and take out the two screws holding it in. It looks like a small circuit board with the volume twister attached.
The base of the twister is hooked to the circuit panel by four metal tabs. Pry these guys gently away and pull the twister free. There will be a metal disk at the end of the volume control shaft, and will have a goopy lube residue on the face of it that can be cleaned with electric contact cleaner or some other kind of solvent. Wipe it clean,(do not immerse) reattach, and test. Worked perfect for me.

blaupunkt doesn't supply parts after ten years on their decks. you can try salvage yards.

SOURCE: i need output circuit board
I did a little resaerch on these and can't find anything good to tell you about these. Most articles claim these speakers were part of a big scam where people in a white van or other vehichle were selling these claiming they had to get rid of them because of an overstock and they made people some real good deals. I can't seem to find any legitimate parts dealers for these. There are lots of places willing to repair circuit boards and you might want to look locally at a repair shop to see if they can be fixed. I suggest using Google to find a repair shop or ebay to look for a new speaker. they are still out there on ebay. If youdo a search using just TR-180 you can look these articles up and decide fopr yourself on which route to take.

- Unplug Ap-U70 from power
- Remove side and top plates
- Remove front panel (3 connectors onboard)
- Lift up front pcb from the main plasic front
Then you see the poti with 4 clamps - bend the 4 clamps carefully aside and open the poti - you will see there's alot of oil/fat inside the poti that shouldn't be there - remove it all with some cleaning fluids
Assemble all together and see: Volume control is back
Within the years the oil/fat goes where it shouldn't ...
