There IS an advisory. Some of those have a bad bolt sleeve. Call S&W or look for the Howa Machine Tool rifle information.

Take it to your firearms dealer so it can be sent to the proof house to be inspected and certified as deactivated or take it to the proof house yourself

Rifle parts

Basically, it's a Lee-Enfield No. 4 action, converted to a target rifle by Parker-Hale.

So depending on what parts you're looking for, some of the standard Lee-Enfield No. 4 should work.

I wish to know the difference in the different 303's. I purchased a Lee Enfield approximately 50 years ago. I now must replace the stock and thought a synthetic would be the way to go. It has a squre bolt...

Hello Julien Mirault,

The whole point of a MILITARY MODEL ...
is for PARTS interchangeability... AMONG the
estimated 17 million produced... (Not rare).

To tell precisely which of the "303" models
you might have... you need
only read about the models below...
LeeEnfield Wikipedia

Three main characteristics (From 1895 to 1962)
- REAR Sight position & windage
- Clip FEEDING brace atop/rear of chamber
- Magazine capacity

Check at the Wiki article (above)...
or FEEDING "stripper clip" below...

Searching on
the internet... once you have typed in "Enfield 303"
The only remaining concern you ought be
confronted with... is what "STYLE" synthetic
STOCK you will want... (personally I love the wood

My best advice would be to pay attention to
characteristics that would reduce the KICK
(pretty powerful) back of this rifle when fired.

Condition: That is truly a shame...
but AS the markings are mostly lost that means
the finish is likely also been worn away...
So from a "collectible" standpoint there is no
probable significance... (unless historic

The Lee Enfield "303" highly recognizable by
the very long barrel and FULL wood stock...

The 303 strikes a beautiful profile when converted
as a "hunting rifle" ... (like: Monte Carlo STOCK)

Remove bolt from browning a bolt rifle

There are different browning bolt rifles and they have different methods of releasing the bolt. You can get the manuals for browning rifles at http://www.browning.com/customerservice/ownersmanuals/index.asp These show you how to remove the bolts from the different models.

I couldn't find the eurohunter model, but I checked out the website. Without a bore sighter, You can still get your scope to hit a paper plate at 100 yards by using a cardboard box. Then it will fine tune in just a few rounds. Only a bolt action though, you have to be able to see down the bore. Take a big box, or a rifle vise, cut some V's into the top edges, lay the rifle in there, pull out the bolt, find a target 100 yards away, put the bore of the rifle on it and don't move the rifle. Then put the crosshairs of the scope on the same target, check to make sure the rifle didn't move, then check the cross hairs again. You will be able to hit your target at 100 yrds, the ar 15 is an exception to the bolt action, you can see down the bore.

K98 scope

K98's were fitted with a Hensoldt ZF4 or ZF6 if you want a WW2 purist type of rifle. Hensoldt are part of Zeiss. Zeiss market their military scopes and binoculars under the hensoldt name. You can pick these up second hand for around 500 US Dollars.

If you are fitting a scope for shooting purposes, one with variable magnification is a good choice but you won't need a higher power than 10. Non variable a 6 power is more than adequate for the K98. Leupold have a wonderful range of tried and tested scopes in various price ranges. If you don't mind spending more than a thousand dollars on a scope Schmidt and Bender make magnificent scopes, some of which you will find attached to US Military sniper rifles.

There is a lot of choice with a lot of difference in price. Too cheap a scope will not be able to handle the recoil of the K98 and you will find yourself constantly adjusting it.
