The battery on a pulse scout 49 is located on the floor between the seat and the steering under the mat you rest your feet on.

My Pulse Scout 49cc takes about 10 kicks to start in morning ok on electric start

Hi, Michael and the usual suspects are:
1. Spark plugs in bad condition or have an improper gap or are partially fouled.
2. Spark plug cables in bad condition.
3. Battery damaged or nearly discharged, should have 12.5 volts.
4. Check battery terminals for damage or corrosion, check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter if necessary.
5. Throttle controls not adjusted correctly.
6. Water or dirt in the fuel system.
7. Water or dirt in the carburetor.
8. Intake air leak.
9. Fuel tank vent hose and vapor valve plugged, or fuel line closed off, restricting fuel flow.
10. Enricher valve inoperative.
11. Engine lubricant to heavy (winter operation).
12. Ignition is not functioning properly (possible sensor failure).
13. Faulty ignition coil.
14. Valves sticking.

Just put in new batteries ines my go go traveler scooter and now it just stops suddenly and then goes and stops again. Should I also replace to fuses?

hi Paul, first of all check the battery connectors on the battery pack, making sure the battery packs fits nice and tight with no movement,

The axle part of the scooter, making sure the axle snaps to the frame nicely with no movement and check the connectors here as they are a big problem area, you're looking for discoloured connectors and poorly fitting ones...

I can supply you with all replacement connectors if required...

No power after charging

Either the charger is no good or the battery is no good (will not take charge). Use voltage meter to determine what is what.

2008 electra glide battery draw, test light pulses, now bike wont crank over

The pulsing could be the alarm module. When bike is turned of, you will get small draw for a minute or so and then it should go very low, below a miliamp or so. This is the alarm module setting itself. Check for this. Is battery gone flat while checks were being made? Make sure ignition switch is on when disconnecting battery if alarm (Stock HD) is fitted. If not, alarm module gets confused and can cause problems. The corrct procedure for disconnecting a battery from an alarm fitted HS is - alarm off, ignition switch on, pull main fuse (Maxi Fuse), disconnect battery. To fit, ignition stitch off, connect battery then install main fuse.

Scooter's horn works but the battery is not charging when plugged in.

hi, right first of all, check the charger, check the fuse located in the charger if fitted, best way to test it is to try it on another scooter.

Now if youre sure the charger is working ok look at the charger socket is it a loose fitting if so wiggle it about gently, does the charger accept it charging ? is there a charging light on the scooter ? if so does it change colour when inserted , if not bad charger or charger fitting ? now if you have a multimeter , remove the seat and the cover under that , mind how you do this as it easily to hurt your back, show now you can see the batteries , check the leads to the batteries, have they come loose, now using the meter put a prode on a red terminal and the other lead on the other battery black terminal, now change terminal if no reading until you get about 20 to 25 volts , now inserted the battery charger , has the voltage changed or watch as it will start to rise , give it 20 minutes or so and if nothing changed , it pointing at your charger as having a fault ,even if the batteries are no good it will see show some output, now if the voltage measured on the batteries is lower than 18 Volts depending on scooter it will never move but the horn will still work as that requires only 12V.

Please leave feedback if this helps
