It could be as simple as a blocked hose, check the drain hose first, before looking at replacing the pump

Pau error 42

I need the make/model but based on the very limited info, it sounds like you have a drain pump issue. If you can hear the pump humming or running, then power is getting to it but most likely it's jammed or clogged. Washing machines won't spin if they can't drain. If there is no pump action at all, suspect drain motor, wiring to the pump, lastly, main control board.

How can I spin and drain my normal size load. I have an LG front loading washer m/n WM2455H and it will not spin and drain. I hear the hum of the pump, so it isn't that. Went through all troub

It is most likely the drain motor even though you hear it humming. The LG drain motor impellers usually wear out on the motor shaft, and the impellers then just end up wobbling. The result; a drain motor that no longer drains water.

Samsung big wash noise when in use no error message or leaks

Drain Pump
To check the drain pump first see if you hear it when it is agitating if it is it is unlikely to be the drain pump. If you hear it in spin or drain cycle check the filter. Some have a small cover in the lower front put a screwdriver in the hole and turn counterclockwise to remove. There will be a cover to remove, water will come out so be prepared with a towel or wet vac. Clean this out. Other Machines will need to access the drain pump to get to the filter. This can be done by removing the back panel on some washers. On others you will need to remove the lower panel or complete front panel depending on model. The filter is located inside the large hose from the tub to the pump. Remove the hose and clean the filter. If you hear the pump making noises you will need to remove the drain pump and check for obstructions, broken impeller, or not spinning freely. Remove obstructions if it does not spin freely replace the drain pump. If you hear it hum replace the pump.

Struts/ Shocks
The struts can cause squeaking noise or vibrations. You will need to remove the back panel , top panel, or lower front panel then run machine to check if the noise is coming from the struts. If it is replace the struts

If the motor hums, rattles,or squeals replace the motor. This is easy to do. Remove the back panel then run machine to check for noises.

Check the belt for making noises by removing the rear panel and then running the machine, if it is making any noise replace the belt

Rear Bearing
To check the rear bearing remove the back panel and listen for noises or any water leakage around the bearing. If any noise is heard replace the rear bearing. Check with service manual all bearings are not repairable. The outer drum may get damaged trying to replace this bearing on some models.

Proceed according and fix it. God bless you

My Kenmore dishwasher does not fill with water when switch is turned on. What could be the problem?

First thing to distinguish is which motor are you hearing working is it the wash motor or is it the drain motor. Describing what you have above I would tend to think that it would be the drain motor that you are hearing on the drain pump itself. This happens for a couple reasons in a dishwasher. One your Float switch could be defective. Two you could have a leak condition in the unit and the drain pump is trying to pump out the water due to this issue. Three you could have a clogged drain line or exit port where your drainlines goes into your sink or in the drain line itself. Four would be a clog in the drain pump itself or the impellar of the pump is not turning. How much water do you have on the inside of the machine and is the machine draining if it is draining then I would look at the float switch first in the unit. I will await your reply as to your finds and if you have any further questions message me back
Thank you

Water not emptying

When the pump is supposed to operate, can you hear the sound of a small motor, or is the machine totally quiet ?
If you can hear the pump motor (but no water flow), then something is blocking the drain pipe (if an upright machine), or the pump is jammed (usually wear and age related).
If the machine is totally quiet, then either the timer (rotary switch control) is not switching power to the pump, or the pump motor has failed.
Sometimes, the wiring to the pump motor develops a discontinuity due to fatigue of the wiring (vibration related).
You will have to refer the machine to someone with experience (and test equipment) to trace this type of fault.

My washing machine will not drain...

Good Morning, Cindeyellis88:

3 weeks is a long time without a washer. Is the washer not draining for all cycles? Will it spin and not drain, or not spin AND not drain? Can you hear the motor running?

If the motor is running, and the machine will spin but not drain, you will need to open the machine and clear the hoses to and from the pump. There are YouTube videos showing how to open the machine safely.

If the pump is clogged, the problem may extend up to the tub. This happens when socks and small items go overboard.

Good Luck.

It keeps on pausing during the cycles, what do I do to stop that?

It sounds like your Door Switch assembly may be faulty. During the cycles, the machine thinks the door is open, so it pauses the cycle.
Can you hear the machine drain? If not, this could be a Drain Pump problem, or Drain filter problem. You will need to remove the panel to access the Drain pump at the bottom of the machine. Remove the Drain pump hoses and clear them out. Make sure your Drain pump is also clear and turns freely.
Does the machine's drum spin? If not, you may have a Motor or Motor control board problem.

Wash machine won't drain after spin cycle

you'll either have something wedged in the pump impeller or stuck in the hose, or you have a bad pump motor. if you can hear the motor running during the drain cycle is probably the above. if you don't hear the humming it is probably a bad pump motor.

Washing machine will not drain

Push down on the lid switch . If you do not hear the motor run , then you have a bad lid switch . If you do hear the motor run , something is in your pump or possibly kinked drain hose .

Drain pump starts and stops prior to final spin cycle

Jayron, is the motor jogging? start to spin, stop, start to spin stop. If so, your motor is jogging between the high and low start windings. The motor during spin should start on the high speed windings and stay there until most of the water is drained. GE came out with a new motor, harness and run cap because of this. If you have a meter, there should be a white and white/red wire going to the motor. If you have a steady 120V and it's doing this jogging, replace the motor with the kit...Let me know if this the issue, back.
