One VTech 6041 handset will not connect, while the second handset does not connect to the base and/or its charging cradle....what's up with that?....battery is known to be good....accepts/hold a charge, I also turned off ALL other wireless "things" in house and still no resolution....

Unplug the entire phone set system from both electrical power and wall jack for approx 2-3 minutes and replug.

It's a reset measure that allows the entire system to reset / reboot as well as stops any and all line feed memory from the live phone line to hold the fault.

Such can be somewhat common when sharing the line with a DSL connection or wireless router is in use.

Can i turn down the base ringer (or turn off) on my vtech dect 6.0?

Welcome to FixYa!

The base ringer is dependent to your handset ringer. If you lower the volume or turn off the handset ringer, the base ringer will follow.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Have a great day.

Bought a spare 3111 handset and cant connect it to my base. it looks as if it was connected to another base at one time. screen just says "connecting..." and there is nothing I can do to clear...

The handset must be registered to the base unit if the system has multiple handset ability, the manual will tell how to register the handset. If the system is a two handset system then only two handsets can be registered.

Vtech 6.0 deregister

Getting startedReplace a handsetIf you want to replace a handset or reassign the designated handset numberof a registered handset, you must deregister all the handsets and thenindividually register each handset. To make deregistration easier, read all of the instructions on this page beforeyou begin. To deregister all handsets:Press and hold FIND HANDSET on the telephone base for about 101.seconds (until the IN USE light on the telephone base turns on and starts toflash), then release FIND HANDSET.Press and release FIND HANDSET again. You must press FIND HANDSET2.while the IN USE light is still flashing. The IN USE light flashes forapproximately seven seconds. All system handsets show CONNECTING... The deregistration process3.takes about 10 seconds to complete. All handsets show NOT REGISTEREDwhen the deregistration completes. If deregistration fails, you might need to reset the telephone and try again. To reset:1.Pick up the registered handset and then press talk/flash.Press OFF/CLEAR and place the handset back in the telephone base.2.-OR-1.Unplug the power from the telephone base, then plug it back in.You cannot deregister a handset if any system handset is in use.

My Phone will not connect to the base unit...

My handset displays CONNECTING...
Move the handset closer to the telephone base. You might have moved out of range.

This is what was listed in the Vtech Manual.

What I suggest is not just powering it off, but remove battery and wait a couple of minutes. Put battery back in and try it. The other thing I suggest is a new battery or switching it temporarily with a phone that works, to see if that helps before you buy a new one. If the battery is weak it will have trouble reaching the base.

This worked for me. Unplug the power to the base for 10 seconds then plug the power back in. That did it for my "connecting....." problem. Good luck!
