SOURCE: Computer doesn't recognize CECT P168C as mass storage or webcam.

The usb connector that comes with the phone is not really a comptible usb for windows, etc. It is only good for downloading from your computers files. In other words, if you want to download a picture from the computer to your phone, first you have to save the picture to your computer, then attach your phone's usb to your compujter, anfd download the picture from the file where you saved it. The phone WILL NOT sync to a computer. Wish I had better news. :o(

try plugging your HD into another desktop/laptop to see if your HD is functioning well on a different computer. Could be the USB cable problem.

SOURCE: My computer does not recognise my CECT i9 phone

Youneed to plug in the phone to the computer while the computer is off. Leave it plugged in, then turn on your computer. This will load the drivers from the phone needed for the computer to recognize it....

Switch the phone on, then connect. You should have 3 options; Mass Storage, Webcam and PictBridge. Select Mass Storage. Depending on your system on your PC will connect immediately or maybe (older model) ask for driver. Driver for mass storage is 'generic' so will install automaticaly. After that go to 'my computer' and there will be 2 (!!!) new 'drives', the first one the external card on your phone, the second one the internal drive of your phone.

I have down loaded and installed the driver but still when i plug my phone into computer its not there. If i choose media player it does not show up in Windows media player. if I choose Mass Storage it...

Well, when you connect as mass storage, there is an usb icon on status bar on your phone. Select it and there will be written something like Select to turn on/off usb connection. Once you turn it on, you will get a prompt on your computer as it will see your phone storage card as mass storage.

How can i download pictures on my SGH-G800 to my computer?

The quickest way to do this is to put your phone into Mass Storage Mode then connect it via the USB cable to your computer. Your phone shows up as a USB Mass Storage Device and you can select the folders you want to download your pictures from.

To set your phone to Mass Storage Mode, do the following:

- Go to the main menu
- Select Settings
- Then Select Phone Settings
- Choose PC Connections from the menu
- And then click on Mass Storage.

When you connect the USB cable to your computer, your phone will show up as a USB Storage device and you can just copy and past files to it like you would a USB Thumb drive. If you select the Samsung PC Studio option...your file transfers will take ALL DAY. Just use Mass Storage mode. Good luck.

What is a USB mass storage?

A USB mass storage means a storage module or storage unit for data such as pictures, music, etc. that you can plug into the USB on a computer. A cellphone becomes a USB mass storage when plugged in a computer because inside a computer is a place to store such data. If you have further questions do reply back.
