1 Answer

I had asked for some info about a ' DRYER " lock light coming on and nothing will now function. Not the washer. I've already replaced the control board.

Check Power
Check the outlet by plugging an appliance into the same outlet the washer was plugged into an running the appliance a hair dryer works good for this it will draw some amperage. If it works fine move on.

To check the control remove the top panel and then remove the console to access the wiring to the control. Find the wire feeding the control from the main power cord. If you cannot visually see this refer to the tech sheet or service manual. Connect voltmeter to the 2 wires feeding the control if it is recieving power and it does not respond replace the control

Whirpool GGw9250Pw3 no power on Control Panel Inside light works

In my case, the problem was a dead main board. The board cost $190 and the overall repair cost $335. I will never buy another Whirlpool due to this experience.

Whirlpool YGEW9250PW1 Electric dryer control locked problem

I had the same problem, but my husband, who is an engineer, figured out that if you pull out the light bulbs that are not reading the correct volts on his volt meter, the control lock light will shut off and the dryer will start working. If you do not know how to do this, you can always buy a new control panel. I know this sounds to simple to be true, but we have bought several new "brains" (control boards), tried unpluging the dryer for days at a time, had an certified whirpool technician come out (who recommended buying a new control board), and nothing worked.

Washer stopped working

I think your mother board has gone hence none of the other lights are coming on.
If you get the help of a competent Washing Machine engineer they will solve your problem, without having to replace the whole machine.

Control lock stays on and nothing else works on the panel. No other lights, no other controls. Disconnected power overnite but nothing changed.

The sound button is the button that you wish the sound to go on when the load is finished drying. Thanks for the advice, I was worried I just bought them and already broken.

Need to get to the back of the unit...

There are no locking mechanisms. There are two things to watch out for. The lower outer arms of the frame slide to the inside of the front washer panel, but are not attached other than by tension. Also, the brcket frame and the washer both have their own leveler feet. It is easily possible to raise the frame so tightly into the washer that it in effect has the washer sitting on it, making it almost imposible to slide out the washer. If necessary, lower the frame levelers to create a small gap all the way around between the lower frame arms and the washer. Note there are electrical control cables between the control panel and the washer that must be disconnected to pull it out.
