SOURCE: Are there any home or natural remedies to treat bronchitis?

Have you tried steam treatments? It's a really easy way to loosen the mucus and lubricate your throat. Put hot water in a sink or a bowl and stick a towel over your head and inhale the steam for about 5 minutes. You can do this several times a day.

Tip

Think you are having a heart attack and you are all alone

if you are alone and unable to call for help to get you to hospital you can try taking deep breaths and coughing hard with each breath as if you were trying to get sputum out of chest. do this every few seconds till help arrives, the deep breath brings in oxygen, what your brain needs to live, the cough compresses the chest which pushes the oxygen to the brain, some times it will even shock the heart into the normal beat. but get to hospital ASAP

I have been coughing for a few days and how do I get rid of it

A persistent cough is usually not suggestive of a really serious problem, but sometimes it is caused by something needing immediate attention.

I'd first see a pharmacist and ask for a cough suppressant. Explain whether it is a dry cough or a phlegmmy cough, and whether you have had a fever, or any aches and pains.

Then if it does not improve in a few days more, see a doctor, who will listen to your chest.

If you are or were a smoker it may be advisable to skip the pharmacist and see a doctor soon if possible. I hope you can access good medical care, as so many can't.

Cluster headaches

Cluster headache (CH) is a neurological disorder characterized by recurrent, severe headaches on one side of the head, typically around the eye.[1] There are often accompanying autonomic symptoms during the headache such as eye watering, nasal congestion and swelling of and around the eye, all confined to the side of the head with the pain.[1]
Cluster headache belongs to a group of primary headache disorders, classified as trigeminal autonomic cephalalgias or (TACs). The condition is named for the demonstrated grouping of headache attacks occurring together (cluster).[1] Individuals typically experience repeated attacks of excruciatingly severe unilateral headache pain.[2] CH attacks often occur periodically; spontaneous remissions may interrupt active periods of pain, though about 10-15% of chronic CH never remit.[2] The cause has not been identified.
While there is no cure, cluster headaches can sometimes be prevented and acute attacks treated. Recommended treatments for acute attack includes oxygen or a fast acting triptan.[3] Primary recommended prevention is verapamil. Steroids may be used to prevent a recurrence until verapamil takes effect. The condition affects approximately 0.2% of the general population,[4] and men are more commonly affected than women, by a ratio of about 2.5:1 to 3.5:1.[1]

What is the difference between a cough syrup that is an expectorant as opposed to a suppressant?

It's actually really important to know the difference between an expectorant and a suppressant, so that you can buy the right one for your cough.

Expectorants - They thin the mucus, making it easier to cough up which helps clear the air ways of mucus and eases chest congestion.

Suppressants - They lessen the urge to cough. If the cough is wet sounding and hacking, it's not good to use a suppressant but for dry coughs that don't use mucus they can help you to sleep better and cough less.
