I want to be an actress (13) but I can't afford lessons?

Can you start a club at your school? Or just start an acting club with your friends. Find a few plays in the library and try reading through them.

I'm writing a story based around a magical academy, does it sound too Harry Potter-y?

Judging by the information you included, I would say that (even if it bears some resemblance to Harry Potter) your world is unique to your own style. You said it yourself, too, houses are common in English schools. Not to mention the fact that schools of magic are a common theme in fiction itself.

Take "Little Witch Academia", for example. It's a magic school, there's witches and quills and all that, but the story is unique enough to be its own thing. As long as you put your own ideas into the story, it will be unique despite whatever it might remind people of. And even if it does remind people of Harry Potter, it could work to your advantage. If a scene is whimsical, it might bring back that feeling of going to Hogwarts for the first time, except the feeling is new because your story is also new.

Someone once said "good artists borrow, great artists steal". No matter what, you're going to find inspiration in things you like, it just happens, but the fact that you've taken that inspiration to put into your own world is great! Hope this helps!

That is the prepositional phrase in the sentence - It seems everyone collects something these days

"these" suggests a position to days. This would be a time preposition. (I think, but I haven't had a grammar class for 20+ years!....)

During 2006, a swimming lesson at a particular school lasted 45 minutes, In 2007 the time will be 50 minutes, Find the increase in the lesson time from 2006 to 2007 as a percentage of the lesson time

Percent change =100%*(new value-old value)/(old value)
If result is positive, it is an increase. If the value is negative it is a decrease.
100%*(50-45)45=100% *(5/45) =11.11 %
