SOURCE: My Marshall Haze 40 Amp started making a very loud

may be one of the electrolytic capacitors in the power supply has become leaky...this is a common problem among amplifiers...so you let it cool down..then after a period of time the capacitor heats up and then causes the hum...the power supply caps filter out the 60 hertz ac line noise...which is probably the frequency of the sound it is making...this is a good indication of these caps going bad....another thing you can check is to see if the amp is properly grounded(eg: the ground pin on the plug is present) and that you dont have an open cord or input

Where is the fuse located in a marshall ma100 h amp head

The fuse should be located on the back panel near the power cord. However, there are also internal fuses as well....If the amp is vacuum tube you will also have a HT fuse as wall as a power fuse. If it is a solid state unit then it will have a power fuse.. Hope this helps.....If you need more info let me know....

That footswitch is the right one for the HAZ40 but, it is programmable. I recommend downloading the manual and follow the instructions for programming and make sure you are using it properly.

I recently got a Marshall mg100hdfx head for free because it wont turn on, so I am investigating possible parts that may need replacing. The only description I got as to why it wont turn on anymore is...

You may find almost anything in this. I think the power amp is on a separate board so the connections to that might have been broken. Possibility include cracks in the circuit board. First thing is to do after visual check is to check power supply voltages to verify power switch/fuse/transformer/rectifier/capacitor/regulator health. Switches are sometimes damaged... and also wires can fall of or break.

Where is the serial no. on a mhz40c

The serial number for this will be on a sticker on the back. If it is missing then perhaps someone removed it. You may be able to contact Marshal and they may be able to tell you as well. http://www.marshallamps.com/

Every time i turn on their is a loud high pitch squeel that occurs on my Marshall VS232 amp. My volume is all the way down, and the gain channel isnt on either. What is the problem?

If this happens when guitar cable is disconnected, take unit in for repair. This should be easy to troubleshoot. Hint: demonstrate the problem in the shop. Things have a way of fixing themselves and then lots of time is wasted trying to recreate the problem.

What is the fuse rating for a Marshall MG30dfx?

According to the schematic, the fuse for 120 volt is a 1 amp.

This is a reasonable size for this size amp.

Is there a circuit breaker

There should be a fuse holder near the place in the back of the amp where the power cord plugs in. Also some Marshalls have fuses in fuse holders on the circuit board. Always replace with the same value and type as the original fuse. Never open up the amp when it is plugged in to the outlet. When replacing the internal fuses do not touch the capacitors as they retain a lethal charge. If the fuse continually blows it is an indication of a more serious problem which will require servicing by a qualified repair person.
