Question about Samsung Televison & Video

Open Question

My 2008 Samsung LCD 55" tv has an intermittent problem where the picture changes to garbled multicolor lines in a grid. It seems to be related to how long the set is turned on. Faulty circuit board?

It runs better from a firestick and the tuner doesn't show at all. Might this be from a faulty main circuit board?

SOURCE: how hard it is to replace by yourself main board Samsung LN-T4065

You need to do some more diagnosing of the problem. If you get sound and change channels take a bright flashlight and place it again the screen. Look for an image around the edge of the flashlight.
If you see an image that means the LCD controller board (TCON) is probably good.

The problem is probably one of three causes;
1) Inverter board is bad
2) CCFT (cold cathode fluorescent light) are bad.
3) Power to the inverter board is bad. You can also check the connectors.

I got multiple thin colors on the middle of the screen

My 3-year old 52-inch Toshiba flat panel TV (Model # 52RV53U, Serial # AM409000295) developed a display issue (purchased Aug. 2008, manufactured July 2008). Vertical multicolored lines appeared on the screen just left of center. The band of thin vertical bars is 5.5 inches wide. The lines are about 1/16-inch wide. They are stationary, always exactly in same place. They over-ride any other picture on the screen (no transparency). They are there all time even with no video inputs to the TV after the unit is turned on. See picture #1. The TV works well in every other respect, but, obviously, it is annoying to watch the picture with the color band blocking about 1/6 of the picture.

I already swapped out the TCON board with no improvement and replugged the TCON board cables with no improvement.

Most likely it is the flat panel tab bond failure (panel made by Samsung). Further updates will be on my Facebook page.

Multicolored lines run vertically on the screen. Is it fixable? not sure what happened. Tv was given to me. Can see the picture otherwise.

The tv could have a dead tv LCD screen panel because of it is damages by a person or an object by hitting it.Than the tv it is not worth it or repairable if it is require a new tv LCD screen panel. Will cost the same as a new tv,if tv require a new tv LCD screen panel replacement. The LCD screen panel tv that have multicolored lines run vertically on the LCD screen panel and people given it to u and said not thing. The tv probally have a dead tv LCD screen panel already,Sorry tv like this,it is a garbage tv now,it only can be used as a salvages tv only for it electronic circuitries boards only.

55 inch toshiba led tv audio sometimes gets garbled. must turn set off and on to correct

I have a Samsung 55 inch plasma that has experienced intermitent garbled audio, sometimes very frequent (a couple of minutes between episodes) and long in duration (several minutes). Switching to another channel and back would correct the audio.

I ran the auto program channel function a couple of times and it eliminated the gabled audio problem, except for infrequent (once every hour or two) and very short (a second or two in duration) episodes of gabled audio.

I found a thread on a CNET forum on this subject and it seems that the garbled audio problem affects a number of Samsung flat panel models.

My 3 year old shot water at the screen of my LCD tv. Showed the picture for awhile, then went white, now there are multicolored vertical lines. Will it dry out? How can I repair it?

lines in the screen means the screen itself is bad and would need to be replaced. No other way around it. If your TV is still under warranty you may want to contact Samsung and try to get it replaced thru them but if they see any damage they won't cover it so keep that in mind.
