Generally, if the gel stain is water based, use a water based finish. If it is oil based, use an oil based finish.

If you are going to use oil over water, read directions to determine waiting time between applications.

Also determine your finish by the type of surface that you stained, and the look you want to achieve.

When steaming wood floors leaves floors wet

Kathy if you are talking about hardwood floors you should NOT use any kind of steamer ever on them .
The wood is eighter oak or yellow pine most common however cherry and moghagany on high end houses and used .
But it is all what is called tung and grove and is finished on the top olny with an interior finish that dosn't work well with moisture let alone forceing steam under it it will soak into the bottom of the wood and then the wood will start to cup become uneven on open up .
The best thing you can do if you have this problem let it dry out might take some time weeks or more .
Then rent a floor sander sand it stain it and put at least 3 coats of a polyurthane over it if you use water base poly you will need more coats.

Can i use linseed oil on my granite counters

you should not use linseed oil or any other oil on granite countertops unless the desired look is a darker stone. The oil may not penetrate depending on the color and density. Linseed oils are generally only for soapstone.

Loosing wood colour in exterior deck flooring, floor unused for6m

When I recoat my outside wooden seating I use Danish Oil and if the colour has faded I add a small amount of stain of a suitable colour. You could try it with the linseed oil but the Danish oil dries to a hard coating and will build up if several coats are used, allow time to dry between coats.

GF Salad Bowl Finish

Create a beautiful and safe finish on wooden bowls, cups, spoons, countertops and butcher blocks or any wood surface that contacts food. Easy to apply (just wipe on with a soft clean cloth) it achieves the sheen and durability of a varnish. Dried film is non-toxic for food contact 72 hours after drying. Additional coats can be re-applied at any time if maintenance of item becomes necessary

I don't know about paints, but there are stains, such as raw linseed oil, that work just fine for food-safe surfaces.

I'm not sure why you need to use a solution w/ linseed oil. But the cartridge is not designed for oil based printing. It's original use is for water based dye inks. So any oil based or oil mixed product will eventually clog the jet sooner or later. Since you are printing w/ this I can only guess you are planning to coat the surface of the paper. There is another chemical that might be available w/ one of your ink manufacturers that is used to refill some Epson cartridges that they use to do a kind of gloss coating on paper. Using a printer to spot coat an area is possible. But most people just roller brush the whole sheet. It's faster than using the inkjet printer.
