Very few ranges have any type of display dimming. Dacor is the only one I know of. If the display is very dim and hard to read, you will need to replace the clock or Electronic Oven Control. If the range is still under warranty, call Whirlpool and request service.
I see you have two different problems, one for the display you would have to change your clock, and because you did not give me a complete model number I can't get you the part number you need (four different colors possible on this model). Second, when an oven ignitor becomes weak it can extend cooking times and cause the same problems you have, also if you oven sensor is defective or has oven cleaner n it can cause temperatures to be erratic. I will and can help you but need a complete model number to get you more information. Located left or right side of storage drawer when its pulled out along the frame rails.
usually when a display is dead one must replace the clock assembly to get the unit to work properly, those clocks arer known for going dim and being defective.....the research i did showed that those parts arent available anymore so i would just use it unitil u want to replace the unit, hope this helps
HI. Sorry to say that the board may be bad. take the stove apart to get to it. there should be a fuse on the board. check it. The clock is there but on a curcit of it's on. But that dose mean the board is getting voltage. Hope it's the fuse.
Our 7 year old "Jenn-Air Convection Oven", Canadian Model # SVE47600 also has a very dim display. We can barely read the temperature on the oven. Does anyone know what is wrong, how to fix it, and what it may cost us?
Unfortunately it is not possible to make the display brighter. The only solution is to replace the entire clock/timer. The price for the part is less then a hundred dollars and if you will give me the complete model number and a color, I can help you to find the best deal.
