Question about LG Kitchen Ranges

Open Question

I have an LG electric oven. Every 24 hrs the touchpad controls on the side of the panel that controls the burners stops working. It works again after I unplug the unit and plug back in. What's wrong?

The range is a glass-top LG LDE3037 dual-range oven. Only the side of the control panel that controls the stovetop burners goes out every 24 hours or so - the rest of the controls work fine. It always works again after I plug back in, but that means every morning I have to slide the oven out, unplug, plug back in, and put back into place.

SOURCE: Gemini Range Dual Burner

Unfortunately, you cannot repair one element of a dual burner. It all comes as one unit. When one portion of a dual or triple element goes bad, you must replace the whole element. I believe the part number is 1032746 and runs about $70. You will have to lift the glass top to access the burner elements. If you decide to pursue this on your own follow these steps: 1. Unplug range and/or turn off main breaker. 2. Open oven door to access screws under front edge of cooktop. Remove two screws and the top should tilt up. 3. The top will not stay up on it's own, so you will need some assistance holding it up. Some ranges have a couple of disconnect plugs that you can unplug, so you remove the entire top and lay it somewhere to work on. If this is the case with yours (as I suspect it is), lay some soft towels down on the kitchen table or counter top and lay the cooktop upside down. This will make it much easier to work on. 4. Remove affected element by disconnecting the wires first. You may want to write down how they came off, so you can be sure to reconnect them in the right order. 5. Remove mounting brackets holding element in place. Pay particular attention to the numbering scheme on the bottom of the element and where the brackets are mounted. The new element usually doesn't come with new brackets which means you have to take the brackets off the old element and put them on the new element. Make sure you install them in the same numbered holes as they were located before. 6. Reconnect wires and reinstall cooktop, making sure you reconnect the disconnect plugs if equipped. Now, be careful when working on the cooktop while it is upside down. Make sure you don't apply too much pressure on the glass or you could crack it. Also, use extreme care NOT to touch the element surface as the oils from you hands can cause hot spots and effectively ruin it. The bake light material in which the element is mounted is also very fragile. DO NOT put to much pressure on it or it may crack and break. Once you get the cooktop reinstalled and power reapplied, op test it to make sure BOTH elements are working. It is normal to see a little bit of sparking at first with new elements and/or an odor. Test the entire range of the element and make sure it regulates like it should. I hope this helps you.

SOURCE: LG Electric Range Oven Keeps Shutting Off

When you say "Just shut off" do you mean the circuit breakers would trip, or fuses would blow? If so, I would have an electrician check that the circuit is properly fused/breakered and wire sized for the amount of power required by the oven. If the installation directions say it needs a 50 amp service, it better be a 50 amp service.
If shutting off is just something within the oven, then get LG back out again, and let us know of what they say is wrong.

SOURCE: GE Profile Performance Spectra Range error code F0

F0 - F1 - F7 Stuck keypad may mean relay is turned on. Determine if problem is with the Key Panel or Control by:
1. Pushing CLEAR/OFF pad.
2. Disconnecting Ribbon Cable from control and waiting at least 32 seconds to see if Code recurs

If code recurs, problem is in the control. Replace control.

If code does not recur, problem is with the Key Panel.

Lg electric range oven touchpad buttons not working

Did they stop working after running the self-cleaning cycle? That is what happened to mine. I moved the oven and unplugged it. Left it unplugged for a few days waiting for repairman. He plugged it in when he got there, and everything worked. He advised against using the self-cleaning cycle because the heat can cause problems with the touchpad buttons.

F-24 goes on after oven on, and oven starts to beep

The F24 fault code is caused by a closed/stuck/shorted contact on the control panel for more than 60 seconds, such has someone leaning against the controls or objects hanging in front of the controls.

Solution: Touch OVEN OFF, or turn power OFF at the circuit breakers, wait 3 minutes and then turn it back on. If the condition persists the touchpad/control panel will likely need to be replaced. Turn the power off in order to stop the beeping.

We bought the LRW30451SB in Oct 06. It worked great for about 15 months. Then it started. The keypad on the panel either would not let us turn on a burner or would not let us turn it off. It was hit and...

You may wish to try removing and re-seting some of the connectors on the back of the control panel...worked for me when our oven and timers stopped working.....

Remove the sheet metal panel at the top of the back of the oven..three phillips screws....then slide the two blue ribbon, wire connectors out, and re-seat them a few times to get a good connection.

Try to un-seat and re-seat some of the others aswell...perhaps un-plug from the wall first....but make sure there is good connections....then re-plug in, and see what happens...

Is it easy to replace the keypanel of the GE

Hello, The simple answer is yes it's not too hard...Normally you have a couple of screw located underneath the control panel. In most mordern ovens today they just consist of 2 components, the EOC (Electronic oven control) and the touch pad which basically cosists of everything you see(the whole panel). If you are replacing the touchpad..remove screws holding old panel in...pull wire harness from control board (dont worry where they go because the will only fit in one place) remove tape from EOC and relocate the control board to the new touchpad panel...reattach wire harness and tape in the new touchpad panel and hook back on oven ..screws in and your good to go. if replacing the control board (EOC) drop touch pad panel from oven and pull wires install new control then reassemble..easy!. One thing i would check though before purchasing the part, check to see it is the touchpad and not the control board...Here is how to do it...shut breaker off...pull out control panel...remove ribbon for key pad from EOC the re install panel..go switch breaker back on. leave for 24 hours..if within the 24 hours the error messages come back it's the EOC that is bad, if the error messages do not come back then you can be sure it's the touchpad. I would check this before buying the part since they are expencive and offten non returnable. Good Luck!! If you have any other questions or concerns please feel free to comment again. Thanks for using Fixya!! Mike

How can i be sure that the f7 error in my ge built in over requires a key pad replacement.

Hello, I assume since you are asking about the touchpad you had an error code or the appliance just stopped working. The way to be sure the touchpad is at fault is to switch the power off and then remove the ribbon/wire harness from the touchpad to the EOC (Electronic oven control). turn the power back on. Leave for 24 hours if the error comes back it's going to be the EOC if the error does not come back then you have a bad touchpad. Hope this helps, If you have any other questions or concerns please feel free to comment again and thanks for using fixya! Good Luck. Mike

All my burners arnt working! HELP!!!

There is a cooktop PCB (power control board) which is separate from the oven. Perhaps that is the problem. That board is located behind the cooktop control membrane panel.
