On this model the vent is open and shut by a wax motor. The vent should be closed tight during the entire wash cycle and the first 6 minutes of the drying cycle. Check the operation, make sure there is not a bunch of gunk restricting it. If you are handy with a meter check the resistance of the motor. It should read approx. 2100ohms. Another reason for leaking at the base is oversudzing. Also check the upper spray arm for cracks or splits shooting water into the vent area. Catriver...post back.

SOURCE: Water Leak
If possible pull out your drawer and clean it up. Reason due to clogging with detergent, etc. Refer to your manual. If you can't get the drawer out, use a tooth brush to scrub; see that brush does not fall in. The dirt can fall in. To test if clear, pour water into drawer by opening it just so the water will fall in. Try all the drawers.

Also, check the rubber boots in the bottom corner of the door jam....I've replaced them on mine and it still leaked out the front. The too much soap may be the problem but with my experience I'll bet it's the rubber boots. I'm getting a new dishwasher because I'm still having problems with them.

Hi dlypooh, thought I would post the solution here as well for anybody who needs to do a search in the future...
Remove the dispenser, pour water into the opening and make sure water can get into the machine freely. Inspect the opening for soap build up.
If water goes down slowly (re: dlypooh), open the washer door and feel around the bellow for anything blocking the water inlet port into the washer (socks can sometimes get wedged up there and cause a blockage).
If it all checks out ok, make sure the machine is properly leveled and not leaning forward.
Hope that helps!
