Question about Casio Office Equipment & Supplies

My calculator Casio fx-991ES PLUS can't display fully anything i typed on. They always are being cut off and show only like a quarter because of the bar on top, below the menu, that blocks the characters i type. what might have i pressed that did that and how to undo it if ever. or what's wrong in my calculator. how could i resolve it?

Hi,

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).

click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

goodluck!

Hello,

Just so that we know what we are talking about. The natural display is the display mode in which fractions appear on two lines, radicals appear as radicals, log can be calculated in any base, etc. If that is what you understand by Natural Display, we are in agreement.

To set this mode, you turn calculator ON and press [SHIFT][MODE] (setup). The option is called MathIO, and it has the number 1.

Thus [SHIFT][MODE][1:MathIO].

Hope it helps.

SOURCE: Casio fx-991ES, how to calculate

At a blank screen, enter your IRR formula in terms of the variables using ALPHA and ')' for variable X. For example: -1000 200/((1 X)^1) 200/((1 X)^2) ... rest of subsequent years. Then, press CALC. It will prompt you to enter values of your variable (X in this example). Don't worry if there's already a value displayed - this is just the most recent value that has been stored as that letter. Simply enter your value (in terms of your IRR guess) and then press [=]. You will have to repeat this for each IRR guess until you reach almost ZERO.

I had the same problem with my casio fx-991ES calculator, i tried initializing the calculator by keying in shift9(CLR)3(all)=(yes) but that didn't fix the display,so i opened the calculator and removed the battery for about 5days then put the battery back guess what the display started operating well! no more inverted display or numbers.if initializing the calculator does not fix the problem, take out the battery for some few days then put it back in that should fix the problem.cheers

I would take it apart and see if they installed the display upside down. I wouldn't think the wires would be long enough to do this, but maybe that is the way it is laid out.

Good luck.

Hi,

If you cannot find it, buy an FX-991ES. It is solar-powerd and it has the natural text-book display, which is a novelty in calculators.

I know that Staples carry the FX-991ES.

Hope it helps.
