Hi,
The polaroid i830 does not have a good in built memory so u cannot take more than 2 pictures at a resolution of 8 mega pixels and 16mb is as good as no memory :-)
So, either you need to buy a SD card (I have 2 GB working perfectly fine with my i830) or reduce the resolution to VGA.
Steps:
1. Switch on the camera.
2. Push the button below 'M'.
3. You will find the option of resolution, select VGA.

You can now store upto 30 images.

Display reads "images recorded in internal memory" but there are none and I can't take more than 4 pictures until the camera says the memory is full. Also the memory card says it is full after 7 pictures,...

hi, the memory card you are using is to small for the camera it has not got enough memory on it you need to get at least a 1gb memory card or 2gb memory this will then allow you to take between 500 and 1000 pictures the 16mb card you have in is not worth using it will only hold a couple of pictures so go to the well known auction site and buy a 2gb memory card of the same type such as sd card or micro sd or mini sd it should tell you on the 16mb card what type it is then just buy the same type but with either 1gb or 2gb or even 4gb of memory this will then let you take 1000s of pictures

the 16mb card is no good in your camera get a bigger card and your problem will be solved

let me know if you have any problems with the new card ok

16mb

Sixteen MB is not very much memory when it comes to digital images. I do wedding photography and it is not unusual for 1 image to take 8 -12 mb of memory. I can use up to 8 GB on one wedding. Depending on how many megapixels your camera has you may only get a few images on 16mb card.

I can not get software to download and I need to

The on-line Vivitar website said that the camera has 16MB of internal memory and can take an 8mp pictures.
According to my wife's camera book (8mp Panasonic) you can take between 2-6 pictures at 8mp, 5-10 using 5mp density, and 8-16 using 3mp density. Not many.

My camera says memory card is full it's H1GB XD card?

Make sure that the image resolution that you are taking is not to the maximum....my reading of the photos that you have taken is at about 9 to11 megapixels....unless you are an artist or graphic designer thats way to high and holiday pics ...unless really good only need to be 4 to 5....go through your menu and resize images

Won't take pictures

Perhaps if you transfer all your old pics to your pc and then format the card, I think that would solve your problem.
Let me know if you have any joy. Thanks

Memory card

Its an sd card right?
because if its a bigger square Compact Flash Card you could a bent pin.
I wouldnt buy another car if you have a new one and they both give the same error.
I would suggest takeing it to a repair person if there is one near where you live. I would have to see the camera myself to be able to know for sure what was wrong.
But If you can afford to then I would really suggest getting a new one before your next trip. As even if My quick fix worked or if it started working again It could start failing again in the middle of the trip.

Have you tried formatting the card?

Adjust settings

Good Day, please check the capacity of your memory stick, your camera has a 4.1MP imager, at that max. resolution, 1 picture is approx. 1.5Mb in size, my idea is, your memory stick maybe has 16Mb capacity, as you said can only store 10pictures. Adjust the resolution by pressing the button with the "squares/trash can" icon located at lower right on back of camera, in camera mode and select lower resolution, ex. 2Mb, 1Mb or VGA, then check if you can still record additional pictures. Or buy a new higher capacity memory stick 128Mb above, hope this will help, thanks
