Question about Dryers

Open Question

I am having problems fitting the kickplate back over the condenser after cleaning.

The condenser is the right way up and I've pushed it in but it seems to be standing proud of the appliance so the kickplate won't go over it.

SOURCE: condensate line seems to be clogged. How do you

Usually the clog is at the top of the hose. you may have to open up the area where cooling coils are, let the ice melt then clear the drain. There could possibly be a problem with the defrost heater (which is in that same area) or the defrost themostat. But if your unit is trying to defrost, then if the drain is clogged, there will be an ice build up that the defrost heater cant fully melt before it goes back to the freezing mode.

The condenser unit will only fit in one way there are normally arrows on the front telling you what way or some you just have to align the 3 locks some are difficult to push back into position you have to lift the back end when pushing back patience is the virtue on these sometimes

CME256, 506, 656, 806: AutoIQ Cubers

Additional Maintenance: Bin Controls, Condenser
The bin controls use a system of infrared emitting
and receiving components to sense the build up of
ice in the bin. They are located at the bottom of the
ice outlet port. They must be free of mineral build
up to function properly. To check:
A. Remove front panel.
B. Push and release the off button.
C. Remove top and right side panels.
D. Remove the evaporator cover (on models with
one)
E. Remove the cube deflector.
F. Pull up to remove the cascading shield (on
models with one)
G. Push into the freezing compartment the electric
eye brackets.
H. Examine the bottom of the brackets, there are
two sensors in each bracket, check that they are
clear of mineral build up. They may be wiped clean
with ice machine cleaner to assist in removal of
the build up. Be sure to drain the reservoir or go
thru a Clean cycle to remove residual cleaner.
Note: Do NOT use abrasive materials or cleaner
on the bin sensor lenses. A soft toothbrush is an
effective tool for cleaning these sensors.
Air Filter Replacement
See Page 30 for an illustration of Air Filter
Replacement.
To Clean the Air Cooled Condenser
I. Remove the front panel.
J. Push and release the Off button.
K. Remove the top panel.
L. Remove the right and left side panels.
M. Clean or replace the air filters.
N. Check the fan blade and condenser for grease
or dust build up.
Because air flow is from the inside of the cabinet
out, the inside of the condenser fins will have the
most build up.
A. Place the inlet hose of a vacuum cleaner in the
condenser shroud.
B. While the vacuum cleaner is on, blow
compressed air from the back of the condenser
thru the fins.
C. If grease is present, use coil cleaner on the
condenser. Be sure to wipe up any excess coil
cleaner.
7. Replace the top, left and right side panels.
8. Push and release the Freeze button.
9. Replace the front panel.

Important: Always switch off and remove the plug from the electricity supply before cleaning the condenser. To maintain the efficiency of the dryer regularly check that the condenser is clean. To remove the condenser 1. Remove the kickplate (see page 13). 2. Turn the two locking levers anti-clockwise and pull out the condenser. 3. Pull out the condenser unit. 4. Gently remove any dust or lint with a cloth, then wash the unit by holding it under a running tap turning it so that water flows between the plates, to remove any dust or lint. 5. Refit the condenser ensuring it is in the correct way (as indicated by the arrow) and pushed firmly into place. Lock the two levers by turning them clockwise. 6. Refit the kickplate.

Remove kick plate

Tip the unit back and put your hand under each side in turn underneath, the kickplate is held on via clips near each front foot (the retainer lug is part of the kickplate) this will release it. To reinstall offer the kickplate up under the door panel and give the bottom a push to relocate the clips.

My Amana electric dryer, Model # NED4500VQ0 will not start.

You will have to remove the back panel to access this part. Be sure that you unplug the machine before starting. Once the back panel has been taken off and placed aside the thermal switch will be located on the left lower side near the blower housing . It will be thin and long and located near the cycling thermostat that has for prongs on it. On certain machines, the thermal fuse is located in the front. To access this you must remove the kickplate, which can be done by pushing the clips, one on each side jsut above the top of the kickplate, in between the top and abottom portion. The part numbers are the same for either style dryer. To test this part you can either take the wires off it and tie them together then plug the machine back in and see if it starts, or you can use a multimeter and check to see if there is continuity, if there is its good, if not, bad. The thermal fuse will usually be white, and if located in the back, be thin and long with two wires on it, left and right. If in the bottom front, it will be front center on the exhaust duct. Another possible problem is that the door switch isn't functioning properly. You can visually check this by open the door and pressing the switch and listen for a click sound upon pressing and releasing .

Is it normal for a side by side to have the inside panel between door get extremely hot? the woman i bought it from said it was normal to help seal the gaskets to keep the doors closed. Anyone hear of...

if the middle where the doors close is hot clean the condenser coil and make sure the condenser fan is working, hopefully all you'll have to do is clean out the condenser coil, remove the front kickplate and then pull out the fridge and remove the bottom back panel, make sure the fan is blowing then with a shop vac vac up any lint you can from around the compressor and the condenser coil, then you can set it to blow and blow out the coil to get all the dust and lint out of it.hope this helps and good luck with your machine

Freezer and fridge cooling but freezer not freezing and fridge not cold enough

Hello,
Their are a couple things that could be causing that.

The conderser coils under the kickplate below the doors is clogged with dust. Remove the kickplate and check/clean using a refrigerator coil brush that could be purchased from your local hardware store (Lowe's HomeDepot Ace hardware)

The condenser fan motor behind the refrig., behind the lower service plate directly next to the compressor isn't running and needs to be replaced.

Good luck,i hope this helps you to get your refrig back to cold,

check the coil to see if it needs to be cleaned and pull out the machine,if it's getting that hot the condenser fan motor could be dead.pull it out and remove the bottom panel in the back and make sure the fan is blowing and clean the condenser coil.the fan motr part number is W10124096 and it's around 85 to 90 dollars.if the fan isn't running you can stick any fan back there to cool down the compressor and get the fan motor as soon as possible,i've found mice stuck in the fan going for water in the pan or papers,if something is jammed in the blade hopefully when you pull it out it will still run but i think this is your problem, good luck.one more thing the model number you sent isn't the full number, you're missing a number on the end the model i looked up ended in 1 but the fan should be the same, you can open the fridge door, look up near the ceiling on the right hand wall and you should see the model number,if it's not there, look down near the bottom hindge on the fridge door, you might have to remove the bottom kickplate to see it,give the number to your parts store and they will sell you the correct part.

Freezer not keeping ice cream cold

One thing you can do is clean out the area under the ice box where the condenser coils are located. Make sure the fan motor is blowing under there. Clean the kickplate. Get the air restrictions out of the fins and that may bring the freezer temp back up to par.
