Hi Nithya
Try this Turn off the monitor then unplug all the cables , press and hold down the power button for 15 sec , see whether there is any magnetic device near by the monitor , eg Anything which is made of Iron, or any metal, keep them away from the monitor , if this is not fixing the issue , i Guess the monitor need to be serviced !

I have 20 inches tv there is a sound but no picture,it so dark picture

Since you say dark picture visible, then : Brightness control setting!

Check the resistors on the neck PCB. If you find the resistance value of these resistors high, replace them.

If No EHT is found then also there won't be a picture visibility.

1. Open the back cover and see whether you can observe a faint filament glow in the picture tube neck, close to the picture tube socket.
If there is no glow E H T circuit failure.

2. If the glow is observed check picture tube grid voltages grid no. 2. as said above.

( the points referred above are all for technical people)

Memory card has a problem after taking important pictures.. displays reinsert memory stick error and wont read on computer either... any idea if photos can be recovered?

Make sure the memory contacts show up a visible clarity. If there is no detection in any of the card readers, inthe camera and inthe PC, it seems likely that your card has some errors on it,
If the card is detecting the memory but is not showing any pictures, the use a file search in the search mode with the drive selected for pictures/images.
If not it will be best to have it checked with a photo studio to concur the findings since you have important images on it.

The entire left side of the screen has dissapeared and the right side is almost unviewable.

Hello, This require you to open the back cover of the television set also a multimeter to test faulty component.. The following applies if the part of the picture is missing but not otherwise squashed or distorted. For example, 85% is missing but the portion still visible is normal size.
Since the size of the picture fragment is correct but 85% is missing, my first thought would be to check waveforms going into the vertical output stage. The supply voltage is probably correct since that often determines the size. It almost sounds like the waveform rather than being mostly on (active video) and off for the short blanking period is somehow only on during the last part of the active video thus giving you just the bottom of the picture. If there is a vertical output IC, it may be defective or the blanking input to it may be corrupted. The problem may be as far back as the sync separator. Then again who knows, maybe wait for the schematics.
CAUTION: To prevent damage to the CRT phosphors, immediately turn down the brightness so the line is just barely visible. If the user controls do not have enough range, you will have to locate and adjust the master brightness or screen/G2 pots.
Since you have high voltage, the horizontal deflection circuits are almost certainly working (unless there is a separate high voltage power supply - almost unheard of in modern TVs and very uncommon in all but the most expensive monitors).
Check for bad solder connections between the main board and the deflection yoke. Could also be a bad horizontal coil in the yoke, linearity coil, etc. There is not that much to go bad based on these symptoms assuming the high voltage and the horizontal deflection use the same flyback. It is almost certainly not an IC or transistor that is bad.

Rejected passport pictures

The marks are probably a result of the chemical process that occurs to make the image appear on the Polaroid paper. While not visible to the naked eye, the process of scanning that the consulate is using is able to detect more than what is merely visible on the picture. This added detected "information" is showing up on the scan output, rendering it unusable.

You will probably not be able to submit an acceptable picture on any Polaroid instant film paper to the consulate for this reason. Most photography studios off instant passport pictures for about $10 - $20. AAA used to offer a deal of this, but it's been a long time since I needed a passport picture, but check with them first if you are a member. Just make sure you can get a picture that meets the technical requirements (size, color, etc.) of the consulate before having the picture(s) taken.
