Let us guess
it is something that needs house power to work
you plugged it in and checked that there was power at the outlet
now what is the voltage required for the unit
guess it could be either 115v or 240v so it it was 115v and the house is 240 v then that explains why it will not start
now lets see --is there an on/off switch some where on what ever it is
Nope--- cannot guess what the problem is because you really have to give details like , make , model, year , type of equipment to get an answer
anyway if it is out of the box new and not working , just take it back for a warranty check, replacement or refund

SOURCE: How to turn on

First of all, since it's brand new, it's under warranty. So I would not recommend any attempts at repair.

Do you have the owner's manual? That's the place to start.

If not, you can find it online by entering your model number under "Find Manuals & Guides" here;

Also, at the bottom left of that page is Whirlpool's customer suport phone number if you need it.

SOURCE: power supply light has blinking green light

If the power box is bad, The computer will not come on. if you only get a green light, you would need to start with replaceing the power box, if you get a new one and the same thing happens, then the mother board is bad too.

SOURCE: No lights - no power - DEAD!

Your unit is dead, mains are good, tried in other receptacles, still no power. You have a bad fuse inside the unit. Unplug. Remove the cover. Generally this requires removing all the screws on the back perimeter and lifting the cover up. Sometimes they stick due to old grease, etc. Somewhere in the area of where the power cord comes in or near the transformer there should be a small fuse in a holder. It is not a glass fuse and should be replaced with the same kind (ceramic) and value. This is important for future protection. You can get the fuse at . Get a box of five for future problems. If this was the only problem your microwave should work. If it blows the new fuse you could have a shorted power transformer, bad high voltage diode, or a bad magnatron in that order. There could also be a short in the board with the display but that would be unusual. Let me know if you need anymore helpl

Power Supply Issues: Your Troubleshooting Guide

If the power supply shuts off unexpectedly or doesn't turn on at all, try the following steps:

  1. Check that the power supply is connected to a grounded, 3 conductor socket.
  2. Check to see if the outlet has power, by plugging another device that works in another outlet.
  3. Check the power supply cord to ensure it's not damaged.
  4. Place the power supply (transformer) at least 3.6 meters / 11.8 feet from the pool and at least 12 cm / 4 Inch above the surface (fig.1). The transformer will supply low voltage to the cleaner
  5. Uncoil the cable (fig.2)
  6. Place the unit in the water. Turn the unit side to side in the water to allow air to escape from the body and then let the cleaner sink to the bottom of the pool (fig.3). Allow wheels to soak for 15 minutes before using Mirra for the first time of the season.
  7. Then, spread the cable over the surface of the pool as evenly as possible (fig.1).
  8. Plug the cable into the power supply. Make sure the key on the plug corresponds exactly with the key slot on the socket of the power supply (fig. 4a)
  9. Plug the power supply into a grounded outlet. (fig. 4b)
  10. Press the CLEAN button and the light will glow indicating that the system is "ON." The pool cleaner should start the cleaning cycle (fig. 5). Turn the power supply on and off a few times, leaving 45 seconds in between each action, if the pool doesn't start cleaning.
  11. If problem still continues, please contact customer service or your local repair center for further assistance.

Your Dolphin pool cleaner wont start up...

A common problem, especially with 'newer' Maytronics Dolphin brand pool cleaners is that you put the unit in the pool, or even try to turn it on after a cleaning cycle while it is still in the pool, and to that point it has worked fine. You turn the power supply on and nothing happens. You turn it off and back on and still nothing. You leave it, even over night, same thing. What do you do?

While I cannot tell you why it does this (we have a theory but can not confirm it) what usually works is to follow these steps...

1) Unplug everything. Unplug the power supply from the outlet and the Dolphin from the power supply.

2) Let the whole thing sit a couple of minutes (we want to allow any capacitors to discharge).

3) Be sure the Dolphin is out of the water and sitting upside-down on a level surface (Tracks pointing skyward).

4) Reconnect the Dolphin to the power supply and the power supply to the outlet.

5) With the Dolphin still out of the water, perform a self-test. Simply turn on the Dolphin. Within about 15 seconds it should begin to move. The tracks will spin in both directions with and without the impeller motor running at the same time. It is not unusual for the tracks to rotate at different speeds during this test. The test will last for 30 - 45 seconds or so. If it goes on indefinitely, turn it off and contact us for further direction.

6) Assuming the unit has now worked to this point, you should be able to put it back in the water and it will return to normal operation from this point on.

If it still won't run; it runs a few moments and quits the self-test; or runs continuously, contact us thru the Dolphin service form along the bottom of our home page at

Pulled wires from control box, where do they go?

Thank you for posting your question here on

If you are referring to the blue cable that has a black plug on the end; the one that connects the cleaner to its power supply, the connections are: white to 2, black to 3 and if present, red to the post marked with a ground symbol; three small lines. Post one is always empty. If that is not the end you need, please clarify which it is you need to reconnect.

My Maytronics Dolphin pool cleaner does not entire pool

Check to make sure that your power supply is in a position that it can reach all sides of the pool. It may be as simple as repositioning your power supply to make it more effective. Also, with these automatic pool cleaners, you need to make sure that the filter is off, because it being on can affect where the cleaner is able to go. Finally, make sure the handle is locked in a diagonal position.

My dolphin diagnostic cleaner for my below ground pool, just stopped after years. I went to turn it on yesterday and there is power to the power box as the light goes on, but the unit is not moving. I am...

If your unit has a fuse it will be on the back side of the power supply. If the light on the power supply switch is on, it will not be the fuse though.

Try turning the cleaner upside down on the deck and connect it as you otherwise would. Power it up and it should go through a self test process that takes about 40 seconds to complete. If it turns the tracks in both direction with and without the impeller turning, it is fine and will likley start working in the pool again.

If not, contact us through and click on the FAQ and then Dolphin cleaner catagory. You can also use the Dolphin Serice button for information about sending it in for repair.

Burnt out part on mother board

Which board? There is one in the power supply that you plug into the wall and in turn plug the cleaner cable into. There is another that is not replaceable inside the grey or white colored motor assembly that is inside the cleaner itself.

If it is the one inside the power supply, there are several versions available. We can try to help you idnetify which one and quote you the replacement cost if needed.
