I just looked at a breakdown for this tool and it is not that clear. But to get an owners manual you can go to Searspartsdirect.com and type in your model number and look at the same schematici I did and also order a manual for about 7.50. Usually though on a drill press like that it would be a morse taper. Do you see a slot cut thru the spindle on both sides, if so there should be a tapered key that came with the unit. In that case what you would need to do it put the key in the slot and tap it with a hammer to remove the adaptor and chuck. Let me know if I can help further

SOURCE: I need a manual for a 13
As far as the manual goes, you can go to http://www.managemyhome.com/mmh/lis_pdf/OWNM/L0805251.pdf this is the pdf of the 113.213843 manual. I couldn't find the manual for the 842. I don't know what the difference is but it shouldn't be much. You could also search your model number at www3.sears.com and order the manual, but the managemyhome site is free. I hope this is helpful.

To correct that 2 degree angle, there is often an allen screw at the bottom of the table swivel. Look where the nut to loosen the table is. Under it is an allen head screw. loosen the table swivel a bit and turn that in an eight of a turn at a time, re tighten then remeasure.
