Most times it is wear, check that there is nothing caught on one side that will cause paper to skew. Another factor is a slippery guide wheel caused by excess ink buildup from the paper. Use alcohol to clean all the rollers. Put papert into carriage ensuring no dog ears and restart.

Paper jams in back of machine?

you have an obstruction either a piece of paper between the rolllers or the secondary feed rollers are not turning.... open the machine and follow the feed path ...take a piece of paper and manually feed the paper with the machine in the off position look at the feed rollers then the secondary rollers( usually two small rods with rubber sleeves kissing each other ...if you can look at the sides on the machine( inside the cover) see if the gears ( usually white ) can turn or mesh correctly... if you do not see any obstruction then these rollers are not turning when they are supposed to when you press the print button. 90 percent of these problems are paper jams if no jam something is not activating the feed rollers

X4270 paper feed jam

You may have remnants of torn paper left in the feed rollers or beyond -from a prior jam. Other causes include:
  • Overheating
  • Wrong Paper Type
  • Printing Labels
  • Cracked or Dirty Rollers
  • Use of Wrong Tray
  • Incorrect Loading of Paper
  • Paper Overload

My fax machine keeps jaming on the right side in the paper tray, what causese this

When it jams, does the paper get bent or crinkled? If so, there is probably something lodged in there causing the paper to stop. Could be a paperclip or staple, or maybe another piece of paper.

If there is nothing blocking the paper and it just stops feeding on one side, you may have a tension problem -- springs might be getting old and not pushing rollers together tight enough to feed the paper. If you can take the machine apart, try switching the springs around to see if that makes a difference.

Paper jam

Sir/Mam
The problem mite be dirty rollers that feed the paper, try cleaning with alcohol or worn out replace. Problem is the paper roller is miss feeding not taking up the paper instead of hitting something in the machine paper jam.

My fax machine only feeds paper to one side when I'm sending a fax. I cleaned the roller with WD-40 but it still only rolls to the right.

Most of the times there is a dockument stop arm thac6cfff.jpgat broke that cause the paper just to feed one side. What you can do is to remove this arm.I have pointed with a sckrew driver this part. After removing this document stop you will be able to use the fax while ordering a new part.

I have a canon L380s Fax with a paper feed problem, the paper pick-up tyre constantly rotates, causing, obviously! paper jams. I had the side off but can't quite work out how the planetary gear clutch...

There is a soloniod arm on the lower left side of the machine that hook on the feeding clutch.Check the soloniod for any problems.

Faxes out pages jamming

The transmit cover will have to be opened. If you can't do this call a repair man. He will be looking for damage to the last roller called the paper out roller. It may have become dislodged from it's holder, or the holder itself may be broken. If the machine is within warranty, take it back for repair.

Canon 710i

Can you look into the paper tray and actually see if the feed rolls are turning? You may have either a bad paper feed clutch, or the solonoid that releases the feed rollers is bad.
Also the paper tray should move up and down when the paper feeds to move the paper against the rollers. Up to feed down to eliminate paper drag. One of those fingers that raise the tray may be binding against the bottom of the tray not allowing proper movement.
If you can get a flash light and observe what is going on. Then let me know.

Fax Machine

Turn the printer off and open the access cover.
Look for any obstructions in the paper path and remove them if necessary. (It is possible to move the carrier assembly with the power off.)
Turn the printer on, load some paper, and press the Form Feed button. (On the X83, press the Select button.)
Watch the paper as it feeds through and try to determine where the jam is occurring.
Check to see if all the rollers are turning.

If all the rollers are turning, there may be something in the feed path that you can't see. Go to step 6.
If not, there is probably a feed motor or a gear problem and the printer may require service.

If the paper is jamming under the carrier assembly, you may be able to fix it using the manual feed slot.
Turn the printer off.
Take a #10 envelope and feed it through the left side of the manual feed slot until it comes right through the printer to the back of the exit rollers.
Move it up and down first, and then slowly move it over to the right side. If something is stuck under the black guide plate, this may work it loose.
