Well if your computer is slow, it might be you have lot's of viruses there which can cause it too slow, it might be slow for any reason i will write some common steps here jsut try thos

1. Delete all the files in %tmp%, temp and prefetch folders

To access those folder you can go to start/run and in the open box type these folders names.

2. Check your virtual memory which should be 3000MB.

3. Delete all your browsing history

4. Delete all the toolbars for your browser

5. Make sure that you must not have more than one antivirus in your system, and if you have one antivirus than make sure that it is up to date.

6. Perform disc clean up

7. Perform disc defrag

8. Disable all the start up items from msconfg

I have just aquired a emachines computer and im wanting to connect it to a wireless router but its not allowing me to do this.

If you are using an eepc with a linux operating system you will need a wireless driver, go to the eepc support on another computer and download driver, alternatively get a copy of puppy linux, load onto usb and run directly from usb, it may have the driver inbuilt into puppy, a third prob is having to turn the wireless key on but as its a desk comp this wont happen, does the computer have wireless capability.

When I turn on my computer, the only thing that works are a couple of fans. The screen remains completely blank. I have tried another screen but no joy. Any ideas?

One bad/faulty lead can cause a computer with lots of problems
replace all the leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions + IDE,SATA the ones that attach from your motherboard to hard drive
make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty or just replace them they are probably old and faulty ?
hope this helps

make sure it is not getting really hot, also try cleaning all again and start putting them together step by step. make sure the dust didn't got in another part like RAM memories slots, and if you have a big problem with the processor the PC wouldn't even start, wont even turn on.

My Emachine wont stay turned on

My first guess is that you have a virus.  If your virus check software cannot find the problem, other possibilities are a bad power supply or power switch.

EMachines eMonster 500A Restore Disk

I suggest finding the specific drivers that he deleted. Typically, when a computer begins to get slow, either 1 of 3 problems occur. 1. The drivers are insufficiently up to date. 2. There's too much clutter on the hard disk, RAM, and CPU. Lastly, driver files and start up files get deleted. The best way to fix that slow problem is downloading the driver files.

My toshiba laptop wasnt loading up and i tried all the settings like safe mode and none of them worked. i don't have a restore disk so i used the one for my emachines computer. it was working fine until i...

When you use a generic install disk, instead using original recovery disk, you need to re-install all drivers.
Network wont work until you install LAN card driver, games and other software wont work correctly until you install proper video drivers, sound, internal modem, wireless, and bluetooth may also need drivers. All you have to do do is: selecting model from Toshiba website, download and install drivers.

The lights are on, but nobodys home

Im having the same problem with mines, so im on my laptop now. I've done some research and it turns out that eMachines has a habbit of blowing out their motherboards, and that its being caused by the design of the case for which the board sits on. So right now im debating to replace my motherboard or not. Overall I think its best to just get a new computer as the board will go out again in less than a year.

Also try replacing the power supply and the video card if you can. If switching them out doesn't work then its your motherboard :-(
