SOURCE: GE Ice Maker not working.....Water in the door is working......

the fill tube that runs into the back of the icemaker is most likely frozen up in the cabinet. use a blow dryer to warm it up and you should be back in business..

The ice maker usually is an easily removable assembly, lift and pull or something like that. It may be the little water line has cracked, plastic don't like being cold.

SOURCE: GE ice maker, solid ice in ice maker

Many ice makers have an adjustment screw behind the front cover that shows plus or minus. Try the minus turn of the screw that should shorten the amount of time the ice maker fills. If electronic please call the company you purchased it from and explain the problem. Sea Breeze

Water works on door but ice maker isn't making ice occasionally hear noise like trying to dump ice cubes but no ice

the water valve located on the back of the refrigerator that the water line is connected to could be bad. if no water is coming to the ice maker then it shouldn't have any ice or water in the ice mold. if it is empty you can try pouring enough water in the mold to make ice cubes. wait an hour or so and see if the ice maker dumps the ice. if it does you probably have a bad water valve.

if your ice maker has ice in it but had been making small cubes you should check to make sure you don't have a jam. small cubes could be from low water pressure or a blockage. if your refrigerator has a water filter it may be time to replace it if the water dispenser water pressure is also low.

Maytag MSD2454GRW ice maker won't fill with water. I checked electrical connection. It seems to be secure. Also, water comes out of the door like it should. The ice maker just won't fill with water.

OK, Most times that would be the ice maker when they have an electronic module. Pour water in ice maker trays and let freeze. If it freezes and dumps but does not refill then the water control valve for that side is defective. If the cubes just sit there then for sure ice maker core.Let me know what happens and I will return soon with part numbers and locations, Thanks, Sea Breeze

Ice maker not working

Try filling the ice maker with tap water and let it freeze. If the ice maker cycles and dumps the cubes and then does not refill the dual water valve on rear of the refrigerator for the ice maker fill side is defective, if nothing happens when you pour the water in the trays then most likely the ice maker needs a new thermostat. I'll come back hopefully with photos and links. Sea Breeze

Water in icemaker overflows into ice cube storage box AND CAUSES ICE CUBES TO FREESE TOGETHER AND FORM BIG ICE CHUNKS. ALSO THE FULL SHUT OFF PADEL HAS ICE FORM ON TOP OF IT

Check the ice maker after it dropped the ice cubes and when it calls for water it should be pouring it for no much more than 7 seconds ,if more it overflows, in this case the module board inside the ice maker has to be replaced(or for almost the same price with parts and labor you can replaced it for a new ice maker) But if water is sitting in the ice maker all the time , the dual valve which supplies water to the ice maker is leaking and needs to be changed (it's located at the back of the fridge in the bottom behind the cover where the water line is hooked up).

This could be your heater has malfuncutioned and what is happening is that when you turn it on the freezer is trying to get cold and frost and the heater is staying on and letting things melt very fast and causing a water problem

Water to my ice maker freezes in metal tube

ON MOST ICE MAKERS, THERE IS A LARGE WHITE GEAR ON THE FRONT OF THE ICE MAKER BEHIND THE COVER.
THIS GEAR HAS CIRCUIT TRACES ON IT THAT WILL BURN THE PLASTIC FROM ARCING FUSING THE WATER FILL CIRCUIT TO ANOTHER ONE CLOSE TO IT. THIS WILL CAUSE THE FILL TIME TO TRIPLE FROM THE 7 SECONDS TO ABOUT 20 SECONDS. THIS WILL OVER FILL THE ICE MAKER AND POUR DOWN INTO THE ICE BIN. THE ONLY SOLUTION IS TO REPLACE THE CONTROL MODULE OR THE ENTIRE ICE MAKER.
