SOURCE: The hose as torn along the metal ring. How do I

Hi Jim,
SmartAlec from here.
It is possible to take the end off and re-attatch (but its very fiddly and a real pain). You need to simultaneously push in the small oval pins on the side of the hard plastic part and pull the hose out. Be aware that there is 2 tiny springs inside and if they dont go back in the hose will not lock on. Once you have hose out simply cut out the bad part and reinsert to the end.
If this is too hard or some small parts go missing you will need a new hose.
You can get a new hose from

SOURCE: Washer spin off balance

Check the Vibration damper rods to be sure that...
1. They are there and mount is solid.
2. If they are broken in 1/2.
3. The plastic knuckle mounts are not missing/broken.
4. There is oil in the shock absorber/spring section of the rods.

Also - there are suspension springs on the bottom of the tub that could be broken and/or missing.

Replace/repair as necessary.

IF THIS IS A BRAND NEW INSTALLATION - be sure you hav removed the basket shipping pins (4) that secure the tub during shipping.

SOURCE: tub overfills, plastic tube had been cut. I splice

As the tub fills with water, the water level switch detects the pressure of the air trapped in the tube. When the pressure reaches a certain point, it turns off the water and starts the wash cycle. As long as the tube that connects to the water level switch does not leak any air, it should be fine.

I need to know what connects top and bottom twin metal tubular bunk beds. they were given to me and dont have part. it is suppose to be an insert of some sort.

there is a short section of tube that goes inside the bed tubes and normally has a small plastic ring around the center to stop the tube falling down the bed tube
mostly the tube is the same used in muffler shops so a smaller section of tube may be obtained from there. each section is around 6 " in length

My Maytag LAT2600AAE will not stop filling once it has a full tub to begin a cycle, it flows right into the overfill and right down the drain.... so it never starts a cycle... How do I fix this???

Easy fix, no parts needed! The small hose that comes from the bottom of the tub up to the water level switch is supposed to be air tight. As the water rises in the tub the pressure builds in that small tube.
The pressure in the tubing shuts down the switch. So what goes wrong? Sediment builds up in the tubing OR a hole gets in the tubing OR vibration simply makes the tubing fall off the switch. Blow out the sediment (use them lungs). Reattach the tubing , pump out the water so that the pressure can build in the tubing once more and retry. The possibility of the switch itself being bad is slim. themobilian_2448.jpg

Leaking water while washing

I just finished repairing a leak with my washing machine. Turns out that the plastic tube that connects from the tub to the water level sensor had pulled off at the tub end. It has a wire spring clip that is supposed to hold it tight to the connector.

Kenmore 700 series top load washer:sleeve that anchors metal tub is sliding down preventing spin out?

you will need to replace the drive block. you will need to remove the agitator then remove the spanner nut that holds tub in place. tub can be pulled out and now the drive block is visible. replace and it will sit how it suppose to again. I would stop using it before it rips the outter tub open

Tub does not stop filling up and water is leaking onto the floor

Check for a faulty water level switch. This is a diaphragm-like device with a small plastic tube attached between the switch and the bottom of the washer's outer tub. As the water level increases, so does the pressure on the air in the plastic tube and when it reaches a certain level it activates the switch to turn off the water. Look for any obstructions in or damage to the plastic tube. The switch can be tested using a multimeter or ohmmeter. Check fo continuity. A lack of continuity indicates a faulty switch. Sorry for your trouble and I hope this helped. Best wishes.

Keeps over filling and water leaking out of side and front

There is a valve mounted on the rear of the cabinet which is supposed to cut off the water flow when the water level reaches a set point. A clear plastic tube will run from the bottom of the tub to this valve. Replace the valve, reconnect the plastic tube. Should solve the problem.
