SOURCE: Overflowing drip pan under the fridge

for reallybsq
problem could be door seals not sealing completely and hence excessive ice formed on evaporator and excess water when it melts. however, i have found this problem many times with large larder fridges and really found no cure.

for guest.
towards the bottom of the back wall, there is a gulley with a drain hole in the middle. this drain is blocked. clear it with something flexible and make sure water flows away freely

SOURCE: how to empty drip pan

At the back of the food compartment where the water collects ,there is a drainage hole, this is blocked up,poke a long thin piece of wire or similar and poke it down the hole, this should clear the blockage,
If the water does not drain away then you need to go the rear of the frig and clear the rubber or plastic hose that you will see on the top of the motor compressor. this should solve the problem.
Plz rate this solution.
Thanks. and merry xmas.

SOURCE: condensation dripping from top of refrigerator

The problem is the defrost drain trough is plugged with ice. You will have to turn off the refrigerator, remove the freezer back panel and use a baby aspirator to help you apply and remove hot water to melt the ice. Then insert the aspirator in the drain hole to blow out any thing that may have gotten lodged inside. You will hear the water draining now to the pain underneath the refrigerator. Hope that helps you, good luck!!

Check if the drip pan is fixed to the motor or if it's using the evaporator element make sure it is warm enough to evaporate the water.

Drip pan

The drip pan is located behind the toe panel (grille) at the bottom. The pan should be located in the left side. If you have auto defrost, the pan may or may not have water in it. It is likely to have accumulated grunge which can be removed by a good wash and rinse, being careful to avoid breaking the pan during cleaning. Reinstallation is the reverse of removal.

I have a kitchenaid refrigerator kbfs20et that leaked

Yes it can and it also can confuse refrigerators with electronics. Think it is great you caught on the first time around. I have pictures of that happening to a Samsung and there was Ice in places I had never seen before. Yes if the refrigerator is near defrost and you leave the door open it will continue to try to cool and the compressor will run until the temperature is finally satisfied and the amount of water will be huge and overflow the condensate pan. The drip pan that sits under the freezer side of our Kitchenaid Superba side by side refrigerator is full of nasty looking black water that I wanted to clean out but I can't figure out how to get it out of...

well to take that out ? which isn't normal part of it the drip pan catches water from the fridge / freezer and is caught in the pan while the evaporator generates heat to dry the pan out!! so if you really must remove it then you have to remove the wire in front of it to get it out other wise you just unplug it and reach in there with a brush to clean it

Mice poo in the drip pan.how do I remove and clean?

Normally the pans are simply lifted a little to clear a lip formed by the frame and then pulled forward. If it hasn't been out before (or for a while) it may be necessary to slide a metal ruler or similar under the frame and pan to free it from the floor. They have relatively large surface area and it would take much gunk under it to make it seem immovable.

Drain pan leaking?

there is a drip pan located underneath you ref but most likely your prob is a plugged drain line coming from the freezer. when you ref goes into automatic def the water doesnt run out into the drip pan but instead onto your floor..

you can clean the drain line by removing the rear cover in the freezer compartment and using hot water to thaw the drain below the evap coil.
