i did too have the same problem & i call back ther service center , he told me only the original movies with the orignal sub titles that can be played

Try the program Sub2Divx (I have the same DVD sony dvp-ns67p worked properly). It takes just 2 minutes to put the subtitle in divx and is not fixed, only appears when tight subtitle on the remote control. I have a link to a tutorial but it is in Portuguese. You need to download the movie to a computer and store it in a video file. Then you should be able to use a software program to burn it to a DVD. I use a TIVO for watching and burning my videos. You don't need a computer. You save the video by recording it to the TIVO's hard drive then after it is on the drive you DUB it to an empty DVD-R disc.

xfer the videos to the memory card and connect the phone as mass storage and manually xfer the videos from one folder to another. Your phone will appear as Fat4 drive.
