Question about HP Office Equipment & Supplies
It will print a test page prompted by the PC next to it, but wont do anything else. The printer says all is ok and connected. The PC says its functioning normally. When I try to print, PC says "not responding".
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.

I had the same problem and couldn't figure it out until I found this on the web - I changed the DEP setting and now I can print just fine. Hope this helps you too!!

I just figured out my issue. It had to do with DEP − Data Execution
Prevention. I had remembered that I was fooling around with this a couple
weeks ago and had changed it to "Turn on DEP for all programs and services
except those I select" in which I had Windows Explorer checked. I just got
done selecting the original which states "Turn on DEP for essential Windows
programs and services only", rebooted, and now I can print again to my hp
The DEP can be found under control panel−>system−>Advanced Tab−>Performance
Settings−>Data Execution Prevention Tab
Hope this helps.

SOURCE: Can not print at all.
I found a similar error on a Vista 32-bit OS when I tried to print using notepad. There's no dot before dll.
I wouldn't suggest simply deleting the printer from the Control Panel's "Printers and Faxes" folder since that will still leave the printer drivers behind.
Try this instead:
1. Make sure you have the installer CD of the printer, and if not try to download it from the manufacturer's website. Make sure you choose appropriately if you're using Vista or it can cause problems. If you don't do this, Windows won't always download the proper driver for you.
2. Go to Start > Programs (or All Programs) > (Printer Brand) > Uninstall to make sure it's uninstalled, and also check it from the Add/Remove Programs (or Program Features).
3. Restart PC.
4. Use the installer CD, or downloaded installer, to reinstall printer.
5. Test printing from different programs.
If after all of these are done and you still have the same problem (unlikely, but hey, anything can happen), you need to call either the printer or computer technician. Most likely the first.
I tried this process and it printer worked fine.

I had the same problem. This is what worked for me: I went to the HP website and downloaded the hp Print Diagnostic Utility. Found the problem and fixed it in no time (device manager I believe)... worked beautifully. Hope this helps :-)

(still pressing the setup button) and put the plug back.. and it will remove the no mech mode.. then you could print like before.. i hope this helps

Did you download the latest drivers from the website? It looks like they were posted this month. I would report the issue. It is quite likely there is a compatibility issue. Have you contacted canon at all about this problem? Once I have more information I can try and assist you further.

Tips for a great answer:
Note: Do NOT connect the USB cable until prompted by the software
1. Unplug your printer from your computer and turn it off.
2. Click drop down button select your OS, click NEXT.
3. Select download, click expand button.
4. Install the downloaded driver, follow on screen instructions and reboot if prompted.
Hopefully this helps.
