How to fix corrupted Visual FoxPro 9 dbf, dbc?

"Not a table" means more serious problem than TABLEVALIDATE can fix obviously. Also when DBF recovery fails the problem can be critical (if you have the DBF recovery which supports your DBF file format).

You should look at the DBF header via some hexa editor. You may even use the one from VFP:

DO HOME() + "Tools\HexEdit\"

It will ask for a file opening so please select your DBF and post first two lines here or look at the DBF structure description in the VFP help.

First two lines (in hex editor) contain the file type, number of records, record size, last update etc. "Not a table" means the first byte was not recognized as valid DBF file marker.
Additional lines contain column descriptions each one in 16 bytes.

More info:
Second easiest fix is use DBF Recovery Toolbox or some other applications. Search in Google.

X2600 fails to install

I got around the "blank description" error by repairing lexmark's .deb file.

It is too many steps.

Here goes:

Run their installation .sh script.
Do NOT press OK at the error.
Pull up a terminal editor.
cd /tmp/self*
tar xvpf arch.tar
mv lex*deb /home
cd /home

then go over to
and see a nice little script which you can save to a file called x
sh x

(edit the control file so the Description: has one line here. delete the rest.)
save it and the script rebuilds the .deb

If you can read the script you could do it all manually which I did.
then do:
dpkg -i lexmark-inkjet-08-driver-1.0-1.i386.deb

to install the lexmark driver.
Yay it works!

Lexmark did a blank line in the Description and then a big paragraph with how they built the .deb file. The above simply fixes that Description to one line instead of a paragraph and rebuilds their .deb file.

I have a Gateway GT5465E and the CD rom is not reading discs when I put them in. Any way I can fix this myself?

Base from the description of your problem it seems this is a issue with your registry and if you already did uninstall and reinstall the CD ROM from device manager the next thing to do here is to correct it from the registry editor

Follow these steps, Click start > RUN type REGEDIT and then once you have that window open look for this string, HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

Once you have find that on in the right pane, right-click UpperFilters and LowerFilters , and then click Delete.

Close the registry editor and then open device manager and uninstall the CD ROM and once done do scan for hardware changes and CD ROM will be back and running again.

In my ebay pictures are not showing, but show in the listing

For future reference, if you find that you have deleted the images from an active listing that was posted through Auctiva, provided that the items have not received bids and have more than 12 hours left, you should be able to restore the images in the description via the following process:

1) Locate your listing in your Saved Listings folder, make any necessary changes, and save.
2) Click the " icon to the right of the item on your "Saved Listings" page
3) Select All and copy the html in the popup window.
4) Locate the item on eBay and click the "Revise Item" button.
5) Scroll down to the "Description" section and then click the "HTML" tab above the description editor.
6) Delete the existing description HTML, paste the copied HTML in its place, and save your changes.

In the event the item in question has already received bids, you could potentially add the missing images to the bottom of the description using the "Add images" tool on the Active Listings page within your account.

If you need any further assistance with this situation, please feel free to contact our customer support team using the web form on the following page of our site:
