CMOS Checksum Erro

This error is not the same as a CMOS Checksum Error, which refers to corrupted values of the CMOS settings, the ones you set through the BIOS setup program. This error means the contents of the BIOS code itself are damaged.

During the boot process you will see on the screen a certain key to press to enter setup
Press and hold that key during the boot up process to enter BIOS you can load failsafe defaults or load optimized defaults ,press escape then press f10 to save to cmos to restart
You will also need to set the time and date

In the main or system setup screen you should be able to see the date and time Using your arrow keys navigate to the date and change the date. Once highlighted on the month, day, or year, press your arrow keys or your page up / page down keys to change the date.
hope this helps you

We have a Panasonic UF - 770 fax machine which is showing the wrong time/date. Our manual has 'gone missing' so we're at a loss. Please can you help?

Oh thats an old beast. usually when the date and time go wrong it means it has lost all its memory and requires what is called a "shipment set".
To do this you press function,7,monitor 4 times,*,6,start. Scroll down to Initialise Ram shipment set, start. It may ask if you want to reset the counter, if so say no and enter and stop to exit.
Now you can input the date and time and your ID and fax number (they may have been lost)
To set the date and time=
Function,7,1,set. enter the correct date and time and press set then stop. To enter the logo and fax number its the similar but its 7,2 this time.

Hope that helps.

Date problem

When the Date and time error message comes up during booting up the computer, it means the BIOS requires configuration.
If this occurs every time you boot up your computer after changing the Date and Time then, this is caused by a flat BIOS battery.
The BIOS battery is ususlly a 20mm dia. 3 volt lithium battery type CR2030
Replace the BIOS battery and then configure the Date and Time and you won't get this error again.

HOW TO SET DATE & TIME

To open the USER SETTINGS MENU. Open all three of the One-touch speed dialing panels. Then press the button labeled "Data Registration".

Press the "SET" button 2 times until you see: USER SETTINGS - 1. DATE & TIME.

To open the DATE & TIME Menu. Press SET. Use the buttons on the numeric keypad to enter the current month, day, year and current time. Just enter the new numbers over the old numbers.

To set the year, enter 08, 09, etc.

Use the 24-hours format to enter the time (e.g. 1:00 p.m. would be entered as 13:00)

You can also use the cursor buttons to move the cursor without changing a number entry.

To restore previous entry, press CLEAR. Press SET to "lock in" the Date and Time.

These instructions come directly from the User's Manual.

Hope this helps.

sometimes during time set, the hands are set to change date at day time.
check it your date turns during 12 noon, if yes move the hands clockwise until you set your time and date on sync.
say you want to set your watch date:10th and time:10:15am
adjust your date at 9th
then move your hands clockwise until the date turns to 10th at the 12 thats the 12 midnight.
then continue moving your hands clockwise until you reach 10:15am

Date Changes during the day

Hi Jeffrey, Put stem into "set hands" position and adjust hands to the 12:00 position. Day and date should advance at or close to that time. If you pass 12:00 and there's no change continue rotating another 12 hours and they should advance. Once youv'e found that there's midnight so if you're setting the time at say four (4:00) in the afternoon (pm) you will neew to rotate the hands so around the dial so they pass 12:00 once more then four hours more to 4:00. Now I assume by bilingual you mean that the day ring has like Mon (monday) and Lun for Spanish or the like. In this case if it's showing the wrong languare set the crown (winder) to the first position (second posn is "set hands) and rotate winder eithr clockwise or anticlockwise. Once you discover how to advance the day ring just set it to the correct day/language you want and press the crown home. Hope this solves your problem. If the advances are changing at some obscure time like 8:40 or something it's because the hands pave been located incorrectly and would need correcting by removing movement from the case.
