SOURCE: trying to hook up an emerson dvd player to tv and

IM GUESSING THIS MIGHT BE AN RCA TELEVISION? if you dont have an rca in hook up on the tv give up and buy a new tv or you can find an older item what it is is a switch that has an rca input and a coax output it was used to hook up the older video game systems it is still sold in most stores and that will work if you do have rca inputs and lost the remote you need to get a universal remote to switch the input on certain older rca tv's you could go to channel 00 and it would set it to the input with the switch you shoudl be able to use it by putting the tv on channel 3

RCA DRC247N DVD Player No Audio

The separate DVD player has three output cables: video (yellow), right audio (red) and left audio (white?). These connect to the corresponding inputs on the TV. If your cable box also has three similar output cables, you probably do not have a second set of inputs on the TV so what to do? You can purchase three Y adapters that combine two female RCA connectors into one RCA plug and plug everything into your one set of connectors on the TV. However, if your cable box output connects directly to the TV antenna input, the solution is simpler. Post a comment if this approach is not going to work

it sounds that your tv has no audio/video input jack so you don't have place to insert the rca cable. what you need is an RF converter where you can hooked up the 3 cable wire for audio( L/R), video.then the other end you need to use an RF plug with wire that you can plug into the RF tuner of the tv and the other end to the RF converter.hope this can helped thanks for using the fixya.

I'm trying to hook up my Panasonic DVD player (model DVD-S29) to a Comcast cable box but have not been successful. My DVD player only has Audio Out connections, with no audio in connections. I...

the cable in should go to the box and cable out from the box to the TV.These should all be coaxial cables correct?Hook up the DVD player to the TV using the red, white, and yellow cables is also correct. In order to watch a DVD,you have to use the input select button on the remote for the TV ONLY to change inputs. If you have a universal remote for the TV and not the original factory remote provided with the TV,you need to use the menu button located on the outside of the TV.I just searched on my flat screen and was unable to find an input select through the menu button. It may not be possible on this TV if you do not have the original remote and if you own a universal. My universal for one of my older TV's is about 7 years old so I do not know if newer ones have an input select option. If they do not,it is most likely due to patents and royalty payments which these cheap remote makers do not want to pay.Anyhow, let me know if this helps.Just comment here and i will get an auto link to your comments.Good luck! I have an older TV with only an antenna hook-up, a VCR, a DVD recorder and a converter box that I would like to hook all together. I can get the VCR to work, but don't really know how to hook the DVD...

Try this. You will need 2 RF cables and a RCA cable that has a red, black, and yellow plug on each end.
  1. Plug the antenna signal into the converter box.
  2. Connect the RF output (TV out) of the converter box to the RF input on the VCR
  3. Connect the RF output (TV out) on the VCR to the TV
  4. Finally, plug the DVD recorder into the converter box also, but use the 3 RCA cables that came with it (audio left, right and video).

How do I connect my Magnavox DVD/VHS player to my Element Flat screen TV?

Do you have a newer TV or a older one lets start with a newer models does your tv have 3 or more jacks on the back or front you should see a RED, YELLOW and WHITE if you have a HDTV you should see more. (LETS HOOK UP) Did your DVD/VCR come with a cables if not you will need to buy at least 2 they are called RCA cables Lets start with the dvd/vcr combo on the back you should see a (LINE OUT) this is where playback or your picture and sound come out. On the back of the TV you should see a (LINE IN) this is where you plug it in to. RED goes to RED, WHITE goes to WHITE and YELLOW goes to YELLOW. To Record you will need to hook up the line in on your combo and the line out to your tv. ( IF YOU HAVE AN OLDER T.V WITH NONE OF THOSE JACKS ) you will need to buy a RF- MODULATOR the are cheap it is a box that let you hook a cable wire to a little box and the RCA jacks to you combo and you will turn your tv to channel 3 or 4

have this model..was trying to hook it up to a directv hughes receiver. After a day of trying and many curse words I found that using thishookup works . Hook up your satellite connection to you tv asusual...Now plug rca cables(red, yellow white) into the corresponding holes on the BACK of the Directvreceiver ..now plug the rca cables into the FRONT of the Magnavoxplayer...you will only use find holes for the white and yellow(that'sok) Now hook up up the dvd player2.gifto the tv using the rca connection back of dvd/vcr player..or if yourtv only has a coax connection you will need a rf modulator available atwalmart etc. You will run the dvd/vcr on L2. The key is the connectionsto the FRONT of the dvd/vcr player..I hope this helps..:)

How to set my DVD/VHS Govideo player...

If you used to put the TV on channel 3 to watch the videos that means you had this hooked up with the RF RG6 COAX cable. You most likely had this passing thru the cable box and then to the TV, but with the new digital format that may not work any more. A quick fix for this is to take the coax wire from the player and hook it up directly to the TV Cable port then flip your tv to 3 and it should work. If you have an older tv without the newer connections you may have this port already in use with the cable box - if that is the case you may need to get an RF switch or splitter. hope this helps

Hook up of new dvd player to comcast cable box

I ran into the same problem, Radio Shack has a device called a RF Modulator. The model # is Model: 15-2526 | Catalog #: 15-2526, the price is $27.49. On the back there is a place for cable in and cable out to tv. There are the 3 rca jacks on the back also, 1 video (yellow) and 2 audio (red/white) That simple. Set the tv to channel 3, turn on the dvd player and it automaticlly puts the dvd on the screen. Turn it off and back to normal cable. Works great, I use one myself. hope this helps. Steve

Trying to Install

Do you have the red, white and yellow hookups on the back of your TV????? If you don't then you need to get an RF Modulator. You can buy one at Walmart. Older TVs don't have the red, white and yellow hookups. You hook up the RF modulator with a short cable to the cable outlet on your TV. Then you plug in your DVD player to the RF modulator. You also plug your cable for the TV into the RF modulator. It really is very simple. Directions are included with the RF modulator. You will need a short piece of cable also.
