Question about GPS
This is not quite a clear explanation But i will take a hit on it and see if we can get this right for you.
When you select a new destination and select GO the unit loads a map of a place that you see regularly on the screen.. like a default.. say NY City it remains on screen without ever changing to your true location say Ontario and then starting to give you instructions to proceed tpo the selecfted destination?
Firtsly you can set your STATE of origin in settings
However that can become lost if the unit loses all battery power or is turned off completely, so its sotrt of a waste of time unless u keep it cxharged up all the time.
Now to what may be the cause of it NOT going to the selected address.
!st Check that the PORT and BAUD rate are set in settings correctly, consult the manual for this or use the autoconnect option in Satellites
2) the battery power is LOW and therefore cannot connect.
3)( you are in a location where a fix cannot be effected.l Take it outside, even out of the car and try it Some connections can take upo to 9 minutes as it accesses 4 satellites to get a true triangulation.
If none of the above work the news may be really bad. Your SIIRF chip is damaged and is costly to effect a repair. Cheaper to quit and buy a new unit.
TIP. Never start the car with the GPS plugged in to car power Always connect after engine start.

This is the built in GPS unit that your car came with correct? Not a detachable unit? Also, when you have put in addresses in the past has it worked just fine? It sounds like it is putting the address is as the next address, meaning once you get to the address in the GPS it may kick over to the next address, but you may have left the current address and thus it's not taking the new one. There is a way to fix this.
Please let me know what kind of GPS it is for sure and I will help you out here.
