It does not matter. Just make sure it is set to the correct voltage your system supplies to it and that you put pne wire on each terminal as the diagram on the side of the motor will show you.

SOURCE: Replacing a pull chain 3-way ceiling fan light switch

OK .. the thick black and white are the power for the fan , are there also white wires on the lamp sockets ..??
The thick black wire should connect to the black wire on the switch.
The small black wires connect to the red and blue wire on the switch .. two small black wires each .. that should give you a position for 2 lights , and 4 lights, on the step switch .. but there should be white wires from the lamp sockets connected to the thick white from the fan .

please respond .

What wires coming from the theromstat conect to which wires coming out of the wall

suggest this: hire a technician to fix it for you. you would need the wiring diagram for the thermostat and to find which wires go where in the wall.

this is a task that is normally beyond the ability of an owner. It requires some technical knowledge of thermostat wiring, as well as using a voltmeter.

you might post an ad to locate another owner of your model RV, then ask them to pull the thermostat off the wall and take some pictures to send to you - showing the wiring connected.

I am wiring a honeywell thermostat model number ct87n if I select fan on the fan runs when out on auto /heat nothing but if I put on auto / cool and adjust the dial to a low setting the hea comes on....

there is it all depends on how many strands of wire are in there, they start at 2 wire and go to i think 8 wire and maybe more.
The wires are as follows:
1. red = power to stat.
2. green = fan control
3. blue or yellow = ac
4. white = heat
w1 = 1st. stage heat
w2 = 2nd. stage heat.
i am on line if you have any questions. wally

Have a Evcon model #GCGD36S21S2A Puppy chewed wired and now compressor won't kick on nor will thermostat turn on. Three wire system but looks like only white wire was hooked up. Nothing when rubbing white...

There will be 2 wires hooked up in order for the system to operate, the color of the wires are not really stanard, allot of installers will use colors of their choice, it usually is yellow and blue, but the only way to know for sure is to remove the thermostat from the wall and see what colors are hooked to the "Y" and "C:" terminals... then make sure that those two colors are connected to the 2 wires that are out in the outdoor unit - air conditioner, at the outdoor unit, it does not matter which color goes to the wires.
example: lets say the outdoor unit has 2 yellow wires, and lets say that the 2 wire that are connected to the "Y" and "C" terminals at the thermostat are yellow and blue, just hook the blue wire to one of the yellow wires that come out of the outdoor section of the air conditioner, then hook the yellow fron the thermostat to the other wire coming out of the air conditioner. All it is doing is energizing a coil in the contactor in the outdoor unit, like a light switch that gives power to the compressor. Now........
If the 2 wires coming from the thermostat were touched together, that would creat a direct short in the 24 volt circuit in the furnace - inside of the house, hopefully the model of furnace or air handle will have a spade type automotive fuse located on the computer board in the furnace, if so this would save the board from shorting out, so look on the board, find the fuse and see if it is blown, if so replace it with a automotive spade fuse of the same type, usually 3 or 5 amp. If there is no fuse it is a good chance that the 24 volt transformer of the board itself is shot - this will require a AC tech.
NOTE: Turn of power to the furnace and the A/C outside, before looking at anything. The thermostat wire to the out door unit is a 24 volt line, this is usually a pencil or smaller sized wire, "Brown" or sometimes "White".
I wish you the best, and hope it helps, I am new to this site, so I am still getting use to it.
Sincerely,
Paul Gibson

I need wiring manual for goodman mini split.

outside unit L1 and L2 are load (input 240vac)
then you have control voltage, usually yellow and blue (24vac) this connects to some 18/2 thermostat wire which goes inside as white and red.

note: this unit may only need 24v control which is 2 wires from the inside unit and also 3 wires 2 hot 1 ground for line voltage.

STANDARD WIRING
on the inside unit you have green, white, blue and red control wires.

on your thermostat you have white, red, yellow and green

you run the wire from the outside unit to the inside unit. then run a 18/4 wire to the thermostat if wired and join the following wires.

inside unit thermostat outside unit
green------------------------green
white-------------------------white
red----------------------------red
blue-------------------------------------------------------blue
yellow--------------------yellow

Need to disassemble a thermostat

  1. Pull the faceplate (bottom) straight out from the wall.
  2. Loosen the screws at the end of the wires, like the one in the middle at the tip of my middle finger.
  3. Remove the 2 screws which hold the rest in.
  4. Make a note of which wires were attached to what. I suggest taking pictures.

Wires from the wall are 2(orange/white), 2(blue/white) 2(white/orange and 2(white/blue) my phone outlet which is wired has 1(black), 1(blue), 1(yellow) and 1(black. How are my wall wires to be attached...

Take a look at this image:

0d5b58e.jpg Notice that the Line 1 will typically present on pins 3&4 and Line 2 on 2&5. I would think in your case Black/Blue is Line 1 (3&4) and Yellow/Black is Line 2 (2&5).

If you have a 1 line phone and only have 1 line active, then typically blue and blue/white can be connected to the Blue and Black of your Jack. If this doesn't work, switch with the Yellow and Black.

Please let me know if you have further questions. Good Luck!
