Question about Computers & Internet
Hi, not sure exactly which games you are trying to run, but before you consider setting up a dual boot machine, its probably worth trying to see if you can't get your games working in VIsta first.
To do this, find out which folder you game was installed to and find the .exe (not the shortcut) file for that game (usually the one you double click to run the game)
Once you have found the .exe file for the game right click on it, a menu will pop up , click on properties
This will open another dialouge box, click the tab that says Compatability
Now notice the section that says "Run this program in compatability mode for"
click the little box and a tick will appear , Then from the little dropdown menu below it select
MIght also be an idea to click the boxes that say "disable visual themes" and "disable desktop composition"
Hopefully this has solved your problem, if not I have another suggestion before trying to set up the dual boot (as its quite complicated installing XP on a system with vista already on it, Its easier the other way round)
Try using a free program like Virtual PC , which lets you run an xp environment from with vista, withou the need for a dual boot system
found a great little guide to doing that here
If you still cant get your programs to work, or if you just really want a dual boot system, I havent installed xp on a vista system, I've only done it the other way round, but this guy has found out a method of doing it, that seems relatively simple, heres the guide for that
