Question about Computers & Internet

1 Answer

I have a four monitor setup running off one computer. I am using an ATI FireMV 2400 pci video card. I just lost power to all screens. I rebooted the system and now only have one screen operating and the other three screens do not have power. The display properties settings seem fine. But no power to three screens and all power cords are connected and video connections are fine. Any ideas how to repair?

I have no lights on. I push the power button on the displays and get no power or at least no lights come on.

Hi there

When you state no power to the other 3 screens, are the power lights on those 3 monitors turned on? If so, what colour are they? And what colour is the power light on the monitor that is working?

Will not recognise the card although I know it

you need to uninstall the device and drivers-then install new driver first then install the card and be sure it is seated properly

Ati readon 2400

For this operation, you will need to power off the PC and connect your monitor to the ONBOARD graphics connector on the motherboard. While you have the PC powered off, unplug the PC and remove the newly installed card and reboot.
Download and install DriverSweeper, save it to your desktop.
Reboot into SafeMode and run DriverSweeper selecting ONLY the drivers that are ATI related but NOT your chipset drivers. If you had an Nvidia card previously installed, you need to select those drivers as well.
After that is complete, restart the PC into normal mode and THEN power the PC off completely. Reinstall the ATI 2400 and hook up the VGA cable to it.
Reboot the PC but within seconds after you press the power button, start tapping the F2(or applicable key) key to access the BIOS. In the BIOS ensure that the Video is set to the proper interface AGP or PCI-express but NOT onboard.
Then go here to download Omega Drivers.
Just follow the prompts and good luck.

Dell Dimension 5100 won't start with new FireMV 2400 PCI Express video card

Did you check to make sure the video card is installed in the right spot? Has the onboard video card been disabled in Windows - and when you say it will not boot, do you mean physically no POST. Do you get any error codes? If you can get into the CMOS (Bios) Setup screen - change the primary display adapter from the onboard to AGP, PCI, or PCI-E depending on which card that is. Use this information at your own risk - hope it helps.

After Power Out No Video (AT ALL) Upon Reboot

Plug a PCI VGA card into one of the PCI slots on your motherboard and connect your monitor signal cable to this add-on PCI VGA card and turn on your system . If your monitor shows the usual startup screen then you continue booting your comp and let the OS load , thereafter you BACKUP your DATA . Use a PCI VGA card from TRIDENT or S3 etc., so that your OS will use built drivers to display at 256 , 16 bit or 24 bit colour depth . These motherboards have problems around the GMCH or the Northbridge chip which has Graphics & Memory Control integrated . The refresh signal to your monitor does not indicate proper working of these GMCH . The memory of your comp needs attention and a check .
