Question about Refrigerators

Open Question

I have a Beverage Air MM14GE that makes a constant loud noise near the bottom of the unit. I have vaccumed out the coils and cleaned everything else. The unit appears to be working well, keeping things cold as always, just very noisy. Could I have a bad compressor? Or is there something else I can look at myself. THANK YOU in advance!

SOURCE: Beverage Air ST58N Not cooling

Compressor is cycling on the overload protector. Cause could be a bad starting relay but is more than likely the compressor is bad.

SOURCE: Loud buzzing noise from inside Jenn Air 2389G fridge

i don't know jennair specifically being from england.
however, there is often a fan inside the back panel and the noise you heard was the fan hitting ice. the reason now not heard and fridge not working may be that the ice has built up so much the fan is jammed

SOURCE: Amana French Door Bottom Freezer Refrigerator making noise but not making ice

The noise you hear is the ice maker trying to make ice without a water supply. Check the line to make sure you didn't knock anything loose or kink it when changing the filter, and check for a plugged line. It could be that there is ice build up in the line, a defrost will cure that.

Adding freon to a commercial beverage air mm14ge cooler

If it needs gas it has a leak. These coolers generally don't come with gauge access ports and need to be silver brazed into place. These systems have a critical charge and will not operate right unless the exact ounces of refrigerant are in the system. The temperature controls measure coil temperature instead of cabinet temperature. The wrong charge makes them run and run and they cant control temperature. Hope this helped.

Loud humming noise

Happens when the bearings in the fan or compressor motor are getting worn out. make sure there isn't a piece of cardboard cowling or debris hitting the fan.

Verify that the compressor is actually running. You should feel it vibrating. If the compressor runs with no cooling most likely the refrigerant level is low.

could be the start relay. could also be the compressor itself. need to either check continuity of compressor or use a compressor analyzer to see if shorted or open.

HOW DO CLEAN THE CONDENSING COIL ON A MODEL KR48-IAS

It's located at the bottom. You usually lift that bottom grill up and pull it out. Those coils look like a radiator on the car. Be careful and don't bend them. Only use brush attachment with your vacuum cleaner.

Unit constantly makes a clicking noise.

Electronic filters use static dicharges to filter the air. Unfortunately the make that clicking noise when they discharge. LG calls it a plasma filter. Clean both the regular and the plasma filter to see if that helps.

Fan in cooling compartment

The fan inside the unit should run all the time, this insures a more constant temp throughout the compartment by keeping the air moving.
