It takes the cd, tries to read them, and spits them out saying there is an error. I have tried every cd possible and no luck. I'm not sure if it has gotten wet or what... the cup holders are right above the cd player, and water may have seeped its way into it somehow... and if that is the problem what do i do?

Is the problem that it will not play them, or is it that it sticks them back out, if it will not play them, then dust might have gotten onto the lense of the laser in the reader, so you will have to take the cd player out, open it and clean the laser's lense, if it sticks them back out, then there is probably dust in the crack between the eject button and the dash, or water in it, compleating the circut (if you have had the car outside on a day when there was over 70 degreese for an houyr, then there is almost definitely no water, you might want to try heating up the button with a hair dryer, to evaporate any water that might have gotten stuck in there, anyways then take a thin piece of metal and use it to poke the area around the button, then use a vaccum cleaner to clear out any dust.

CD player says Cd Error will not play CD's

What you might want to try is to run a CD player cleaner disc through it; if it is a problem caused by a dirty head or pickup, this sometimes helps. CD cleaner discs are available at Wal-mart or any electronics store.

If this does not help, the CD player will need to be sent to service center

Slot load cd player keeps ejecting cd

I have had this happen, but there may be more than one problem causing it, so there may be more than one solution. One thing is: are you trying to put a DVD in a CD rom? Most of the newer ones are also a DVD player, but it never hurts to check. It will not read it, and may reject (eject) it. There may be scratches or other damage on the disk, causing the laser not to read it. I have found that sometimes you can turn the disk 1/4 or 1/2 turn and it will read it, I don't know why. (This is a common problem with playing cd's in a car stereo - often they will continue to eject it until you rotate it a bit.) If your disk has scratches, fingerprints, or dust on it, you can clean it with a mechanical cleaner. I bought one at Wal-Mart and it has cleaned many disks that I thought were useless. Cleaning by using a soft rag and soapy water my work, but may also cause even more scratches, so I would not recommend it.

My Jetta is 2005 and just two days ago I was playing a cd and it popped the cd out and displayed an Error 1 code??? I hardly ever play my player how can I correct this issue.

error 1 is usually a mechanical failure code. check you manual. also you can try to clean the player. that may help. wal mart sells a cd lens cleaner.

2004 VW Jetta CD player rejects cd's 90% of the time

Laser units will over a period of time lose their ability to properly focus on the data that is on the disk. When that happens, it simply goes to laser heaven - cleaning does not and will not repair the fact that the unit is dying or dead!

U wasted 28 bucks. Your best bet is to go to Crutchfield and find a unit that will fit and work properly in the allotted space of your car. Also a lot cheaper that going to a VW dealer.

Rejecting cd's

Press the Q/I/ATT and the "sel" button at the same time with the unit off for more than 2 seconds. This will reset the entire unit (you'll have to re-program the memory stations for FM & AM). The disc should eject automatically.

Hope that helps!

Some dvds no longer play

well, seems like your laser diode is getting old. you need to change the diode. what you are experiencing is the start of a dying diod. it will start to rejects cd and soon enough it will not spind at all on all the cd's. so change the emitting diode. good luck
