Question about UltraLast FOR TOSHIBA SATELLITE A50/55 TECRA A2/M2/M2V SERIES UL-TOA55L

I have Toshiba Satellite A50 with Windows XP. After booting, when I give my login password, it is not taking. However, I noticed some keys are responding and some are not. All the letters of my password fall into the latter group, unfortunately.

Hi,
If you have noticed that the keyboard is not responding to certain keys, get a USB keyboard, plug it into the laptop and start the laptop up from a cold start, it should recognize the USB keyboard and let you type in your password (you may have to wait a minute or two for windows to install the drivers).
If it lets you in to the operating system open a txt document and use your laptop keyboard to test the keys and make sure they are working.

Good luck.

  • Reformat computer.
  • Use 3rd party software to remove password. Like http://www.top-password.com/reset-windows-password.html

When I turn my Toshiba Satellite A50 on and Windows tries to boot I get the following: Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt: WindowsSystem32ConfigSystem It then says:...

You need the Toshiba CD that says "Operating System"...
If the CD doesn't boot, then boot to the BIOS setup screen and change the boot order.
CD should be listed first.
Re-boot.

Right after the Toshiba logo appears start tapping the F8 key.

You will get an option to start in Safe Mode.

Select this option and let the computer start in Safe Mode.
