Question about Uniflame FG2204C Grill

1 Answer

I have a Uniflame Model GBC730W gas grill. The gas from the tank (fresh tank of propane) does not make it to the burners. Could it be a problem with the propane grill regulator?

NEW Uniflame LP Model GBC1134W Gas Grill won't go over 300o in an hour? What is wrong?

The problem may lie with the grill's regulator and the way the tank was turned ON.

To solve this problem, do the following:

1. Turn the gas tank valve OFF and disconnect the hose from the tank.

2. Wait 5 minutes and reconnect the hose to the tank.

3. Open the tank valve VERY, VERY SLOWLY (Slow motion, slow).

4. Once the tank valve is fully open, light the burner farthest from the tank first and set the burner
control knob on HIGH. Does the flame height look correct for being set on HIGH? If so, light
the remaining burners the same way. Do all the burner flames look correct? If so, you solved
the problem. Remember, to always open the tank valve Very, Very Slowly.

If that didn't solve the problem, you will need to replace the grill's Hose/Regulator Assembly. It runs about $30.00 at any home center or hardware store that sells grills & accessories. If you replace it, turn the tank valve ON Very, Very Slowly.

Hope this helped you to troubleshoot and solve the problem. Happy Grilling.

Susan - Assuming that you have a Propane grill with a grill tank, that has plenty of gas in the tank. Do the following:
  • Turn the Propane tank valve OFF.
  • Disconnect the hose from the tank.
  • Wait 5 minutes and reconnect the hose to the tank valve.
  • Turn the Tank Valve ON, VERY, VERY SLOWLY (slow motion, slow).
  • Once the valve is fully open, light the burner farthest from tank, first.
  • Turn the burner flame to High. Has the flame height returned to normal? If so, light the remaining burner(s) the same way.
  • Have all the burner flames returned to normal? If so, you solved the problem.
  • Always remember, when turning the tank valve ON, do it VERY, VERY Slowly.
If the above did not solve your problem, you will need to replace the grill's hose/regulator assembly. You can find them at any home center or hardware store that sell grills and accessories. Be sure to take you old one with you for comparison purposes.

Hope this helped you solve your problem. Please be kind enough, not to forget to rate my response to you. Thanks and Happy Grilling!!

Why wont my burners light up with a new propane gas tank

Some grills have a safety gas shut off if a leak is detected. Suggest you turn gas off disconnect connections then reconnect and check connections with soapy water. When turning gas tank on open valve very slow.

Yes but you need to replace the valves, burner orifices as well as the regulator the screws into the propane tank. Go to cagrills.com and search their models for the proper parts.

Propane grill

I had this problem when I turned on the burners before I turned on the tank, to fix it I had to turn everything off. Then turn the tank on and wait about a minute for pressure to build in the lines then turn on the burners. Hope this helps

Lack of heat

The plates protect the burners and help disperse the flame more evenly across the grill surface. Make sure the tank is completely open (knob on top of tank) and that when the burner is turned up to high, the flames out of the burners are about 1 1/2 to 2" long, mostly blue in color. If they are smaller, and the tank is open all the way, the regulator hose may be defective.
