Re: having problems with outlook express and recieving...

I had a similar problem. Each time I sent an email, it would stay in the OUTBOX folder. So any other new emails I sent, not only would the new email be sent but all the previous ones that sat in the OUTBOX would be RESENT, becomimg a festival of email redundancies. After about a week of this nonsense, I contacted Microsoft via their online chat service. I did not have to pay. The tech asked permission to access my computer remotely using EasyAccess(R), which I gave. The tech then found that my MAIN IDENTITY had a problem. He save my individual email .dbx files to a folder on my desktop. Created a new main Identity, deleted the old one, and copied my .dbx files into the new identity for Outlook Express. I'm working ok now. Just go to the MS Support site click on contact and chat. Good luck... Carl the O Man

I can send emails to my office pc but cannot receive from them

If you are using Outlook Express at home and your office uses a full version of Outlook, it will have some communication features not available to Outlook Express.
There should be no problems sending standard emails though, as long as your office computer has internet access.

Outlook express won't let me read my emails. An error report box appears, and if I press send or don't send, it closes down outlook express.

This tool is able to recover your DBX file without need of backup file. So choose one repair method according to your requirement.

Cant recieve emails

Who is your email provided by? AT&T? Yahoo? Hotmail? Gmail?

You need to go to and in the search box type your provider and search for the settings that should go with outlook express. For example if my email is provided through Yahoo. I would type in the search box "yahoo mail and outlook express". You will see how to configure the PoP3 and SMTP for sending and receiving mail through outlook.

Before doing all that it just seems like your problem might be that you have the wrong password in the outlook setup for PoP3. Edit your settings in Outlook and make sure you have the correct password. I think you click tools or edit when you have outlook open to get to the email accounts and edit the settings. Do this first and you can test it to see if it is working.

Is there any way that contacts can be added automatically via email inbox? I used Outlook Express for years but since my system crashed I am now Windows7 and Outlook 2010 (formerly XP and Outlook Express).

im not sure i have windows 7and had to indivdually add my email adresses into my hotmail you might save them to a file and send them to your outlook email adress open and double click on each one to add or right click to adress book this works on outlook express

Hi All

if you are running XP then open up explorer and go to

C:\Documents and Settings\*your user name*\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\{65C0EAFC-BB65-4A91-A733-2B5FA75AFB49}\Microsoft\Outlook Express

then delete outbox.dbx (Make sure outlook express is closed)

then start Outlook Express and try to send an e-mail again.

Outlook Express Send Mail Error

I've had the same problem, and my way to fix it was to turn of the firewall and check if it worked, and it did.
When I was sure that the firewall was my problem, I gave accsess to Outlook Express manually through my firewall.
I can probably help you with that to, but then I have to know what firewall/anti virus program you use (if you got one at all?)

if you are using outlook, windows mail (vista), or outlook express, click tools > accounts, click on relevant email account, and then on the servers tab, change your outgoing mail server (SMTP) to your new ISP, eg. if you were on bigpond would look like ""

once that is sorted you can send email, if you are unsure of what to put, reply with you ISP's name
