Spinning but no heat coming out.

I have a neptune dryer with cabinet on top. It is spinning but it does not warm up. No heat coming out. I can't figure out what the problem is. The warranty just expired. What is the manufacturers' warranty on this dryer ?

I don't know anything about the warranty, but the no heat problem is most likely caused by a bad heating element or thermal fuse. Both of these components can be checked using an ohm meter or multimeter. Check for continuity. If either component has none, that component is defective and must be replaced. Sure hope this helped and best wishes.

Blowing cold air

This model dryer has two heating elements, one for the top and one for the bottom, I suspect that the bottom element is burned out. If you want to attempt it yourself then I can send you a service manual that will walk you step by step through the whole dryer.

Admiral dryer

If its a gas dryer your dryer vent might be plugged up.

That would be the first thing I'd check if it were me and if this is a gas dryer.

Dryer spinning but no heat

Hi,

If you are having problems with your gas dryer not heating the most common problem is that the ignitor goes bad. Even though it glows sometimes it is still not working properly.

if you dryer is gas check out this gas no heat tip....

If you have an electric dryer, you can have many different things that can go wrong causing the dryer not to heat.

My maytag neptune dryer dc is heating but is not spinning

If the clutch fails the first thing noticed is a UC or DC error displayed and there is no drain or spin.

If you are seeing the above error and having a problem with spin and drain then the most likely cause of this is the clutch. The clutch fails to lock down the spinners and the basket is unable to go into spin and without a 90 RPM there is no drain.

Replace the clutch.

Why does my dryer take so long to dry my clothes? It seems to get warm because when there finally done they come out warm. I have to run it through 2 cycles and towels sometimes 3 cycles

Hi,

It sounds to me like a problem with either a) poor venting/obsruction of some kind...possibly kinked hose ? or b) the blower wheel in the unit responsible for moving the air is spinning freely on the motor shaft.

Check your venting first, insure you have a strong flow of air where the unit exhaust's outside. if yes, good. if no...pull the vent off from the back of the dryer itself and make sure you get good air flow (exhaust) there. If you don't get any or very little flow with the vent off, chances are likely you have a broken blower wheel.

These are the most common and likely sources of a dryer that actually heats, but takes a long time to dry garments.

(Another possible cause that goes unnoticed often, is no issue with the dryer at all, but the washer not spinning properly,(kinked drain) be it mechanical or overloading...check that too).

hope that helps

good luck

Power on but it won't spin.

You have a broken drive belt. To access the belt you have to remove the back metal cover.
The no heat problem could be a heating element or safety thermostat. These are also located under the back metal cover.

Raise the top lid and inspect the belt. If it is broken, replace it.

The gas dryer will not heat?

On that dryer, take out the door screws and the other screws on the other side. Push down on it and the 2 goalpost sides on the top should come out. I would imagine it's the ignightor. Usually a thermal fuse will stop the thing from spinning also. At least once you get it apart you could see if it glows and turns the gas on. Good luck
