AWA LCD TV - Blank screen (with sound) - p...

Initially my LCD TV screen would work for around 40 minutes, then the picture would go blank (but can still hear sound). I would switch inputs and return to AV and the screen would last for another 10 minutes or so and then go blank again. Unfortunately the length of time the screen has been working has reduced over the last few months to the point where it now only lasts for 2-5 minutes before going blank (sound still works). Switching inputs does not work, the screen remains blank.

Does anyone know what is happening?

BTW, my TV is around 2 years old

Same Problem

-   I have a similar problem and it might end up becoming the same problem.

A few days ago my AWA flat screen LCD 81cm TV which I have had for 11 months now, had a black screen with no picture at all and it still had sound.

I thought it was permanently ruined then a few days later I decided to unplug it from the wall/socket and then plug it in again. It worked again, the picture came back.

But hearing your story about the screen going black with sound only and then fiddling with it and the screen coming back again and then going black again constantly over a few months and now hardly working anymore, I might end up getting the same problem, only mine has just started so I don't know if it will keep going blank all the time so it is better to go get it fixed while I still have one month left on the warranty rather than waiting to see if it happens again for the next few months and my warranty will be finished then and I will end up having to throw it away. What a waste of money.

I think these tv's were purposely made to brake down after one year.

I once bought a Brother All in One copier printer fax scanner and after two years it automatically broke down. I looked it up on the internet and had relised that everybody else who had bought one was also complaining about the same thing that there Brother All in One machine starting saying these words on the screen and then not working anymore. When I took it to get it fixed it turned out to have had a faulty part that gets ruined within a certain period of time.

I think electrical appliances are not made to last these days. They are built to break down after a short period. The olden days appliances lasted for so many years, but these days they don't even last a year. People are being tricked.
