I do not know how to find the correct nework for my firestick TV

Sounds like the TV doesnt recognize the Firestick as an HDMI source. Or the Firestick isn't getting power. Or the Firestick is broken.
Does the firestick work in the HDMI port the DirectTV is currently in?

Contact the TV set maker to see if the firestick is supported by the set. Then you will know if there is something wrong with the set, or it is right and it won't work.

1. Plug your Firestick into one of the HDMI ports on your TV. Plug the USB power cable into your Firestick and into the wall or a USB outlet on your TV (if there is one)
2. Turn on your TV and set the INPUT device to the correct HDMI port. There should be a splash screen or setup screen on your TV at that point.
3. Using your Firestick remote, navigate to network settings and scan for your WI-FI router, Then enter the Wi-Fi password for your router (the same one you use for your smart phone or laptop).

You should be able to fully use your Amazon Firestick, and if you have Amazon Prime, be able to access all prime and free offerings from Amazon.

The TV remote has a button for that. Input Select or Source or SEL. However simply turning off anything except the firestick should make it work. I presume the firestick came with a remote. Simply turning it off and on from that should do it. Make sure you can see the firestick when you press the buttons.

Hey, there are couple of ways to download as well as installing Kodi on Firestick. I am not sure which method you used to download Kodi. I would suggest you download Kodi using ES File Explorer and then it will show install button as soon as download completes.

I have no experience of these but as they work by connecting to the internet nothing is live in the conventional sense but streamed either from a single or a series of websites the firestick is programmed to log on to. The website(s) will usually provide a mixture of "live" tv, catch up tv available for a limited time, archive material and special programming and some movies.

What you get will depend on what is available free and what needs to be paid for, your internet/wireless connection and how good you are at reading instructions and operating the remote, assuming the firestick is working correctly.

A friend had a problem with connected tv and it turned out some of the sites took a long, long time to load and he was impatient and assumed it wasn't working.
